I thought these had been on the road for months...apparently I was wrong.
texas94z 06-16-2008, 05:10 PM Come on GM, hurry up. Get the Volt and a hydrogen car out. Kinda looks like that one Toyota hybrid.:eyeroll:

grossesexy 06-16-2008, 05:19 PM Someone fill me in on this, you drive a fuel cell car. How does one refuel, or is the fuel cell a sealed system itself that you have to more or less swap out to refuel?
I wasn't aware that there were any hydrogen refueling stations in the USA, I know Greenland has them.

Target date was over a year ago. Are they out yet?

These cars are only being leased out to a hand picked few people who live close to very limited number of hydrogen fueling stations in California.
GRNcamaro 06-16-2008, 06:40 PM im glad some one is getting there but in gear.
At first I was up in arms. Then I realized:
1. At least it's not a Toyota
2. Competition brings out the best in products, so this will push other car companies to one-up!
Doug Harden 06-16-2008, 07:08 PM So it adds to the greenhouse gas that causes 90% of global warming?!?!
The FCX Clarity, which runs on hydrogen and electricity, emits only water and none of the gases believed to induce global warming.
In simple terms the bulk of Earth's greenhouse effect is due to water vapor by virtue of its abundance. Water accounts for about 90% of the Earth's greenhouse effect -- perhaps 70% is due to water vapor and about 20% due to clouds (mostly water droplets), some estimates put water as high as 95% of Earth's total tropospheric greenhouse effect (e.g., Freidenreich and Ramaswamy, “Solar Radiation Absorption by Carbon Dioxide, Overlap with Water, and a Parameterization for General Circulation Models,” Journal of Geophysical Research 98 (1993):7255-7264).

We peeps in Indiana and Iowa would disagree ;)

Soon, we'll have the greenies up in arms against fuel cells since the contribute to global warming.

they say every thing causes global warming. soon they will be telling every one that thinking to hard will cause global warming.

my old man said he heard something on the news the other day gm is planing on releasing a hydrogen car in 2010 along side the chevy volt. i dont know maybe the volt will come in two forms a hydrogen and plug in version.

They announced the project in 2006...but to my knowledge none of that fleet is on the road yet. Perhaps I'm wrong?
