RED F***IN BOWTIE. For The Win.pickardracing 06-13-2008, 12:19 AM http://i28.tinypic.com/148j3w5.jpg Red Bowtie > * Discuss. CCoop8830 06-13-2008, 12:49 AM Sick! That car looks great! BCdawg57 06-13-2008, 12:57 AM i'm lost FAD1 06-13-2008, 12:57 AM the car looks awsome, but for some reason i like the gold bowtie better 99SilverSS 06-13-2008, 02:12 AM Bumblebee in all his made for movie glory. I for one, don't like the nose. The color of the bowtie is the least of my concerns looking at that car. Angelis83LT 06-13-2008, 03:25 AM Bumblebee in all his made for movie glory. I for one, don't like the nose. The color of the bowtie is the least of my concerns looking at that car. I bet your biggest concern are those gaudy freakin wheels isn't it.... HuJass 06-13-2008, 03:42 AM The red outline bow-tie looks too '80s or '90s-ish. I'd rather see the solid gold or solid blue bow tie. Whatever they did in the '60s. missmy79 06-13-2008, 08:51 AM unbelievable, GM has brainwashed me enough to where I like the gold one better now :) POWERFREAK 06-13-2008, 09:27 AM Yes, I hate the gold bowtie...but I'm sorry, red doesn't exactly look great with orange. I'd rather it match the body color. I'm sure it's just for the movie, but I'm not crazy about the changes they made to the car...nose and rims aren't great...but hey, assuming it's the same prop as they used in the first movie, it's really a GTO. skorpion317 06-13-2008, 09:31 AM Red Bowtie > Gold Bowtie. A blue Bowtie would be cool, too. As long as it's not the ugly gold Bowtie. christianjax 06-13-2008, 09:59 AM Guess I'm the only one that couldn't give a Sh**. As long as it isn't a Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Kia, Ford, or Hyundai logo. JasonD 06-13-2008, 10:11 AM Guess I'm the only one that couldn't give a Sh**. As long as it isn't a Toyota logo. I agree to a degree. :) I usually change things like that if I don't like it but it is cool to see potential differences emerge. christianjax 06-13-2008, 10:30 AM I agree to a degree. :) I usually change things like that if I don't like it but it is cool to see potential differences emerge. I'm sure the aftermarket will offer a cornicopia of bowties options. I would prefer body color, but if it's PINK it won't stop me from buying my Camaro. I'll just put electrical tape over it until I can get a better colored one. ;) Silverado C-10 06-13-2008, 10:43 AM The bowtie is fine, but my God that is one fugly ass front end. Why did they have to change it for the second movie? christianjax 06-13-2008, 11:02 AM The bowtie is fine, but my God that is one fugly ass front end. Why did they have to change it for the second movie? I strongly suspect because of inside information. I think we are looking at the Top Dog Camaro front end here people. http://jalopnik.com/395891/looks-like-bumblebee-gets-an-upgrade-to-chevy-camaro-ss-for-transformers-2 Silverado C-10 06-13-2008, 11:07 AM I hope not.... that looks like ass. JasonD 06-13-2008, 11:32 AM Looks like we may have to get ready to break this one out in every thread all over again. :inperson: Don't take that as a Disciple's confirmation of anything, this is the first any of us have seen or heard anything about this particular version of the car, or the front end attached to it. Dragoneye 06-13-2008, 11:39 AM ...just throwing this out there... Isn't Saleen involved with Tranformers? Who's to say this isn't one of his...'special editions'? Though that thought alone makes me sick.:yuck: Silverado C-10 06-13-2008, 11:43 AM Looks like we may have to get ready to break this one out in every thread all over again. :inperson: Don't take that as a Disciple's confirmation of anything, this is the first any of us have seen or heard anything about this particular version of the car, or the front end attached to it. Still doesn't change my initial opinion on it :p JasonD 06-13-2008, 11:56 AM Still doesn't change my initial opinion on it :p Nor should it. I don't even know what I think about it yet. Might be more movie prop than anything, or Saleen stuff mentioned above. I am interested to see where it goes, though. jg95z28 06-13-2008, 01:01 PM The bowtie is fine, but my God that is one fugly ass front end. Why did they have to change it for the second movie?Merchandising. They can know sell tons of Bumblebee II crap to the fans. It's all about making a buck. :p christianjax 06-13-2008, 01:40 PM I don't have a problem with it for 2 reasons. 1. I don't see me shelling out around $50 Grand for a Camaro. 2. I think the Top Dog SHOULD have distinctive styling cues. IF I was shelling out the kind of money they are going to sell for, it BETTER stand out from the million other Camaros that are going to be on the road. Think ZR1 Corvette. Or even Z06 jg95z28 06-13-2008, 01:45 PM I strongly suspect because of inside information. I think we are looking at the Top Dog Camaro front end here people. http://jalopnik.com/395891/looks-like-bumblebee-gets-an-upgrade-to-chevy-camaro-ss-for-transformers-2If that's the case then... :barf: I may just have to settle for an SS and add the supercharger myself. MetalDragon 06-13-2008, 02:01 PM If that's the case then... :barf: I may just have to settle for an SS and add the supercharger myself. Depending on the price tag, that looks like what I'm leaning towards. That, and if it's over a year until the model comes out, I don't know if I can wait. ...assuming it's the same prop as they used in the first movie, it's really a GTO. And if I'm not mistaken, the wheels AND calipers, etc. were fiberglass shells over steel wheels anyway. Body shells provided by GM and modified by Saleen. CalicoJack 06-13-2008, 02:48 PM Forget what color the Bowtie is cause it SHOULD be a F'in Camaro badge on there anyway. Camaros haven't had a Bowtie on the front since 1969... On a side note i do like the larger raised cowl hood. 8Banger 06-13-2008, 03:19 PM Forget what color the Bowtie is cause it SHOULD be a F'in Camaro badge on there anyway. Camaros haven't had a Bowtie on the front since 1969... On a side note i do like the larger raised cowl hood. My 97 Z had a bowtie on the front as did all 93 through 97 model years I believe. z28Power 06-13-2008, 03:28 PM Forget what color the Bowtie is cause it SHOULD be a F'in Camaro badge on there anyway. Camaros haven't had a Bowtie on the front since 1969... On a side note i do like the larger raised cowl hood. Yeah, my LT1 4th gen has a red bowtie on the front :) You can see it even in this picture. http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x50/gcr14/mycar.jpg Bob Cosby 06-13-2008, 04:13 PM Guess I'm the only one that couldn't give a Sh**.... Me neither. Not even sort of. I even find it somewhat humorous that there is a thread on it, but oh well. :) Bob Chevycobb 06-13-2008, 05:52 PM the front reminds me of the Holdens that have the fog lights in that location http://www.carsandtuning.org/wp-content/uploads/2007/10/holden-hsv-maloo-r8_2.jpg CoreyZ28 06-14-2008, 01:29 AM Forget what color the Bowtie is cause it SHOULD be a F'in Camaro badge on there anyway. Camaros haven't had a Bowtie on the front since 1969... On a side note i do like the larger raised cowl hood. didnt the 2002 SLP RS have a bowtie on the grille? is this not a camaro designed after said 69 camaro? did the 69 have a camaro pendent? thats what i thought :D the kid 05 06-16-2008, 04:52 AM the front end looks long for some reason in that picture...does that mean theres a big engine in it :D ,probably not :( OutsiderIROC-Z 06-16-2008, 08:49 AM Anything has to be better than the f-cking gold.... JeffInDFW 06-16-2008, 03:11 PM I do not like the location of the hood scoop on the concept (actually located in the top of the front bumper cover). Here, they have moved the hood scoop back, into the hood which I think looks a billion times better. Just my opinion. I also agree with the earlier posters that Holden uses that type of fog light arrangement on their top line cars, so I think that is what we are looking at guys. I am guessing this is the styling for the top of the line Camaro. It looks so much like a Holden front bumper cover that I just don't think it is a movie piece....But who knows. Maybe there is a little "pimp" in this 41 year old white boy, but I like it! Oh, and I hate the Gold bowtie because it looks like an old man. I mean, who buys Gold colored wheels anymore? Who buys gold wedding rings? Who wants a "gold package" on their Toyota Camry (remember the early 90s?!!?) anymore? Titanium is in. Brushed aluminum. I want a Titanium colored brushed bowtie. Awsome. 5thgen69camaro 06-16-2008, 06:49 PM http://i28.tinypic.com/148j3w5.jpg Red Bowtie > * Discuss. Cant say I like anything about that car including the red badge. Still would like the Solid blue and still hoping for the Mule grill mesh to replace the concept mesh that seems to have made it to production.... Bob Cosby 06-16-2008, 07:40 PM LOL. And to think that I get a bit worked up over such a tiny, minor, insignificant thing like weight instead of the color of the bowtie. I guess I'm just  HAZ-Matt 06-16-2008, 07:44 PM LOL. And to think that I get a bit worked up over such a tiny, minor, insignificant thing like weight instead of the color of the bowtie. I took it for an exagerated movie prop. Like the little micro machine toy cars with the engines twice the height of the windshield. maybe it will grow on me... Chevycobb 06-17-2008, 05:49 AM I took it for an exagerated movie prop. which is exactly how it should be taken :thumb: CalicoJack 06-18-2008, 12:15 PM didnt the 2002 SLP RS have a bowtie on the grille? is this not a camaro designed after said 69 camaro? did the 69 have a camaro pendent? thats what i thought :D Fine. Camaro's haven't had JUST a bowtie on the front since 69 Is this 1969? Were there Camaros for 32 YEARS after the 67-69 run? If I wanted a 1st gen, I'd by a 1st gen... CoreyZ28 06-18-2008, 02:23 PM no! instead you want a modern representation of a camaro that did NOT have a pendent. and on another note: if micheal bay decides bumblebee needs to transform into a camaro with no top, because he can hes a transformer, doesn't mean it will be available as a hardtop vert. Aaron91RS 06-20-2008, 04:09 PM I like the front of that car, it makes at least from the mirrors forward look like the beltline isn't so high and the nose not quit a vertical great wall of china. | ||
