LS3 Intercooled Procharger Kit

I was just reading the August 2008 issue of Hot Rod and noticed in Test And Tune that ATI/Procharger now makes an intercooled system for '08 LS3 Corvettes ($7,195). They claim 535 RWHP @ 6psi. I suspect it won't take long for them to offer a 50 State legal version for the Camaro after it hits the streets.

So those that wish not to wait for the Z/28 (or who prefer to be a little stealthy) might go that route.

(However I doubt the Z/28 will be more than $7,195 over the SS, but you never know. :p)

And chances are the Z28 will have a roots blower...and be warantyed....:p
Something to look forward to none the less!

Something to look forward to none the less!Assuming gas prices don't scare GM into canceling the Z/28. :(

I think it'd be like taking off you're socks in the heat...it wouldn't do much to help CAFE, and it's a niche vehicle -- and niches aren't often affected by outside conditions, so there will always be a market for it.

A mild cam and bolt-ons get the LS3 to 500+ RWHP. I wonder what those mods plus the supercharger will do.

I just hope GM does what Ford did and over build the Z28 engine so that it can take even more boost, like the GT500 and the 03 04 Cobra.

A 500rwhp SS would make me happy as well, as long as the engine will stay together at those levels.

I really want a Z28 regardless of what engine it comes with, thats the car I have and the car I want to get.

Good power from some low boost. The LS3 is like LS1 version 3.0!

Let's just say that there will be a few choices in the aftermarket world...some warrantied.

I would rather have a Rotrex kit with the optional blower transmission. Or a blower like on the LS9. Hopefully Wheel To Wheel or someone come up with a Rotrex kit.

i think the pro charger is the way i am goign to go. i checked their web sight and it says 630hp on the new vettes. thats not at the wheels of course. i can see about 570+ at the wheels with the new camaro. then put some lt headers and an nice exhaust. perfect.

I have been seriously looking at the Procharger unit myself. In fact, forced induction is one of the main reasons I went from the M6 to A6. That and driving the Pedder's Suspension Procharged G8. :)

why would a blower be the reason for picking an auto over stick?

i had vortech on my trans am and it was a nice set up for what i paid. but a buddy of mine had the pro charger on his ta and was putting 460 to the wheels on a stock 01 ws6. and his kit was more,i guess, sleek than mine with the blower and the intercooler on top of the hood. my MECHAM hood had to be cut to shut right.
how do you post pictures?

I would take a twin screw blower over a centrifugal unit. I've seen several examples of both types of poweradders in street cars (albeit not in any F-bodies) and the Procharged cars performed similarly to STS turbo equipped cars. Great on a dyno but not impressive at the track. I'd imagine it would have something to do with the torque curves of the two different FI units. The twin screw likes to make alot more torque down low compared to the centrifugal blowers.

Either way this car is going to scream with FI!

A 2SS is $34k. I'd be pretty shocked if a 556hp Z28 was only $41k. I'm expecting more like 45k.

I'd expect about 48k to 52k for the Z-28...WHENEVER we may see it. I think it also depends on if the GT500 continues selling as well at the popularity of the CTS-V and ZR-1.

I think with some options and after TTL, that might be right, but I'm thinking the base price has to be at least a couple grand lower than that of a base Corvette (currently $49,415).

Does any one have a video/ audio of what it sounds like. I know on the Trailblazer SS it complety took over the rumble of the V-8

My friend did it on his. He doesn't have a video, but its similar to this Youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jblRTVzPg8Q
