I know there is an Indy event planned but I have a feeling The Camaro will break into the clear at Woodward with Mr Lutz behind the wheel.

A press intro at Woodward would keep in line with past intros.

I watched how they did a small press opening for the HHR SS and just feel they will not pass this up with out some kind of noise.

This has become one of the countrys largest gatherings in GM's back yard and I can not see any good press department not doing a intro at this event.

This will not be a event for the general public But it will be for the press. I feel the Indy event will anounce more plans and is more for the general public as it will be in a area much easier for the public to see the cars vs Woodward where it is so hard to get around.

I do not have any proof that this is what is up but I would keep an eye open as in the past GM has used the Woodward event well with the press. Besides it would also let them take the press to the proving grounds and prepare stories for Nov /Dec magazines for the release in Febuary.

I would just keep a watch as this may be our first real look at what the details will be.

I have reason to believe that you are correct (made the same guess a few months back).

Also, I have reason to believe that it won't be just any Camaro.;)

Too soon for the Z/28 tough one could be a convertable?

I expect a DI V6 and a SS V8 to be on hand and shown to the press as they will be in total stock trim. We will then learn how they will be optioned and get the prerlim numbers on the car. Track testing will come later.

The Indy show is going to be a party for the fans where Woodward is for the press.

I also would not be suprised to see a drive up with someone like Earnhardt JR in one and Bob Lutz in the other.

With Woodward you will get the 4 month lead for them to to have their stories ready to appear right before Detroit and the release of the car.

Saturday August 16th. But the entire week the Auto companies have press fuctions and product placments.

GM usally takes advantage to really do some special things each year. With the timing of the Camaro and the ZR-1 I expect both to play a important part.
