'97 Trans Am. Anyone know if it's a screw in or is it pressed in? I had to cut one of them off last night. Thinking of drilling it out and just putting a bolt/nut in there but if I can easily get the remaining piece of the stud out, I'd rather replace it. It is the driver's side. Thanks!

They are screwed in.I snapped one of mine when replacing the y-pipe/ cat.
I drilled it out and replaced it with a stainless nut and bolt.
Start off with a small drill and work your way up :)

Thanks very much. That's probably what'll end up doing. It's so rusted, it probably won't come out anyway.

I tried some vice grips first but it wouldn't budge.Use a drill bit about 2-3mm diameter first and go all the way through, small drills are much easier to centre. If you try using something like a 10mm drill bit to start with it will just skid off.Make sure you wear some safety goggles unless you like burning your eyes out with hot swarf :p.
The studs are pretty soft, you should have no trouble drilling it out.Good luck :).
