Thoughts after seeing a 5th Gen Mule in Person

First off let me say thanks to anybody involved in the MI F-Body Event held last Saturday and anybody involved in bringing the 5th gen to Event. I have owned 3 Camaros now and have eagerly anticipating this reveal of the 5th Gen just like everybody else. For the first time in my life I am in a position to afford a brand new car so I am one of the hopefully lucky people to be able to buy it. After seeing all the leaked pictures on the internet I had my doubts on if I should wait for this car or just buy something else, it seemed to lack something and I couldnt tell what, but the car that I saw on Saturday with camo and all took my breath away. I thought to myself this is exactly why GM does not want alot of pictures out of a car in development because pics taken with camera phones cannot come even close to seeing it in person.

I was never too concerned with powertrain options, based on all other LS family engines I knew that would be fine. I was however concerned with size and proportions specifically the rear end. One picture in particullar made the rear seem extremly wide but let me tell you that the car just looks right. It sits correct and just looks tough. The interior was also a concern that vanished away, although the windows were heavily tinted, what I saw looks really good. "The center stack does not seem out of place".

I guess what I am trying to say is that when you see the car in person it takes on a whole different life so much so that I am almost ashamed at having considered a Mustang or a Challenger, so dont worry and as always keep the faith.

P.S. it better drive great as well lol

Jason, I totally agree on the concept but I really needed to see the non-concept sheet metal in person the car I would actually make payments on haha...and call me shirly but I liked the production proportions better then the concept!!!

OK now your just bragging, ;)

That makes great sense, but I think there's too many folks that are criticizing the car without driving it, much less even seeing it in person. There's a plate of crow for quite a few, I am quite sure. ;)

Just trying to set your mind at ease...and is pretty much the best I can do. See this (http://www.camaroz28.com/forums/blog.php?b=13)...

It was a shot that didnt have the rear in a great focus don’t remember the exact pic right now, just more of a generalization that some "Pictures" can be unflattering at a time when people develop an early opinion on the car.

You can say that again. I get sick of these naysayers on this site. They will
never admit anything and just complain about everything just like their real
life I'm sure. I know I am going to enjoy this car, I can feel it. I personally
can't wait. Me and the wife are both getting one.

Do you think it'll all be announced in 3 months Jason, or just this is the final version; Prices, colours (Canadian), options etc in 3 more months. I realize you don't know for sure.

I think that concrete details of just about everything will begin to emerge, mostly with the unveiling of the production version at shows like the Indy event, etc.

... I couldn't agree more. :)
I believe seeing the new Camaro in person will relieve many on some of there concerns. My personal experience, ...I didn't initially care for the taillamps, ...but seeing the car even a few times has changed my mind from not being sure about them, ...to actually liking them quite a bit. They just 'fit' the car... :)

:thumb: It was a great day, and one I'll never forget. LS7Engineer, I'm glad you were able to have a great time at the event. Were you there last year when the Camaro coupe and Camaro convertible were both there? :) What vehicle did you bring? I have a feeling I know, but not entirely sure and don't want to make assumptions. ;)

I didn't get too many pictures, but I do have a handful of pics and one video of the Camaro entering the park.

They're high res, so here's the direct links:

I agree completely. That one pic close up of the rear made it look WAY too wide, and the concept in pics and in person was too wide. Recent pics of the mule that show them in parking spots are more reassuring.
