Hello all,

I have a 1995 pontiac formula and am currenty using ASM 1 3/4'' Headers with a random tech y pipe, to a flowmaster cat back exhaust.

Changing the spark plugs is a nightmare with those ASM headers. What header/exhaust combo are you guys using that has better clearance?

I would like to go from the header all the way back and redo my setup.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

Steve

I have hooker 1 3/4" supercomp lt's and its not that bad getting to the plugs, my friend has dynatechs lt's and he says they aren't much different than the hookers he replaced them with.

Changing spark plugs on our cars is a nightmare no matter what. Unless you have a problem with the headers, I would leave them alone. SLP makes a special socket for changing spark plugs. It works very well, and I like it.

Well...the headers have been on the car for approx 7 years.. They were coated but that is starting to wear now headers are rusting in areas.....

The car isnt driven in winters, gets light summer use....

There is a company around here called Swain that has a better coating out there....

So i was considering ditching the ASM headers and the random tech y pipe, and getting "other" headers with the Swain coating.

From what ive heard, their coating makes a huge difference in underhood temps etc...

Does Kooks makes 1 7/8'' headers for my application?

Would going from 1 3/4'' headers to 1 7/8'' headers really help me with my current setup?

Thanks.
