99huggerorangeZ 12-22-2002, 02:02 AM do you think a red 1991 camaro with 17x11 ZL1s w/ red bowtie center caps would look good
pu12en12g 12-22-2002, 02:27 AM 1. The rims look good.. take more pictures
2. All the stickers do NOT look good
3. Your sig is annoyingly LONG
4. See #2 (above)
:D
jorgez28 12-22-2002, 02:28 AM how much did they charge you to powder coat the wheels???
JDohn2001 12-22-2002, 02:37 AM It didn't cost me anything to get them powdercoated. I bought them on ebay last week, but powdercoating costs between $250-$350 per wheel.
93TAWicked1 12-22-2002, 04:58 AM You asked for an opinion so here is mine :) At first I was like no way white rims on a red car..... After looking at it a bit though (at first it seemed busy as hell) I have decided I REALLY like your car! Not my taste.... but I really like it if you want any advice I would loose the wing thing on the back window and dude you need some lowering springs like nobody I know. But seriously way to think outside the box! Now order some lowering springs :)

Wow! I can get them done for $40 a wheel in CANADIAN funds....thats like $30 american....not even
ZYA_LTR 12-22-2002, 09:44 AM I think the 250/350 per wheel for powdercoating is wayyyyy off, i've got a guy local to me that does them for 50/75 per wheel, depending on color, and 1/2 stage pwdercoating, and they look awesome! a couple guys i know have done it, and i'm doing mine this winter.
Black01_Z 12-22-2002, 09:51 AM Totally awesome car, but again lose the wing. The car looks great, so long as it isnt my car. I wouldnt want something that stands out this much.
White30th 12-22-2002, 05:08 PM Looks ok. I would ditch 3 things if it were my car: The million and a half stickers, the spoiler, and the altezzas. I like everything else though, especailly the whole red and white theme. (I have the same, just reversed.) Thats just my opinion though, and if you like it then more power to you. BTW, shorten your sig, thats annoying.

First of all, I have 5 decals on my car: Winshield banner, the stripes, hood scoop decal, 350 H.O. decal, and ***IT Racing decal on my rear window. The red and white theme includes the WHITE decals, so if I ditched the decals(all 5 of them) then there would be no red and WHITE theme. My car might be a little ricey with the altezzas and spoiler but I like them and that's all that matters. Compared to when my car was stock, I get at least 10 times the amount of compliments.
Pandamonkey 12-23-2002, 12:42 AM Love the wheels.
That is the exact color combo I would like to have on my ride.
I'm not a fan of the full body stripe package though........I like it when the stripes stop on the hood.
Your wing is too big.
All the same - you really have something to be proud of there......I'll bet it turns heads.
CARGASM 12-23-2002, 01:23 AM 350 H.O......but you don't have a 350. :D :D :D :D
btw, nice wheels, i don't know when it happened but I have become a fan of white wheels. Otherwise it is waaaayyyy to busy for my taste.
Seriously, when you started modding, is this what you invisioned or are you just throwing more things at it?

This is taken from LS1.com:
"The liners are finished with a bore size of 99 millimeters (3.8976 -in.). That, with a stroke of 92 mm (3.6620-in), makes the LS1's displacement 5.665 liters or 345.69 cubic inches. Obviously, it won't fly with the Chevrolet marketing folks if, upon opening a C5's hood, people holler, "Hey, Vern! I got me one of these new, three hundert 'n' forty-six inch motors, here." so Chevy wants you to call it a "350" or a 5.7L engine."

True. Also realize that the "traditional" Small block chevy was thrown to the wind with the LS1. It's a kick ass motor for sure, but where the gen II is an evolution of the gen I, then gen III Ls1 is a totally different monster.
Aside from the huge difference in head design, the fact that it takes roller rockers traditionally used on big block chevy's says a lot....
I think the car looks really nice. It's an eye catcher, with the white and red, it looks pretty good. Drop it a little, get rid of that wing, and I'd say get rid of atleast a LITTLE of the white, I just think where it is now, though it looks nice, I think it looks like a "hot wheels" car.
And I really dont care for the altezzas...
Lose the wing, and go with an SS spoiler! Other than that it looks nice.
Rashiki 12-30-2002, 05:42 PM I've been looking for those white rims!! I love them. I've got a red car too, and think they would look sweet!!
PaulDobesh 12-31-2002, 01:10 PM The white rims look stunning- good job.
However, I think the car looks cheapened and somewhat juvenile with the Altezzas and the large wing. Remove some decals, put the stock lights back on, lower it and you'll have a serious machine.
Nice car.
pu12en12g 12-31-2002, 01:12 PM If you ever do get rid of the decals and wing, please let me know.
I would love to see some photos of the finished product...
transam8 12-31-2002, 01:26 PM The white rims look nice. The altezzas and huge wing however do not...

I like the white stripes, GFX, and grill man
ZPaul2Fresh8 01-01-2003, 12:20 PM And I thought I was doing too much to my car:eek:, well I got tired of the attention so I got rid of everything, stripes, big wing, painted interior, the whole 9 yards except for the ground effects. I used to want something "different" but after having something different you tend to attract more attention which turns into more critisism and in the long run I realized how the "factory" look really feels genuine. That's why I'm 98+ SS Look... Oh the irony :D

What? I got quotes from some good places and it costs no more than 80pr rim. Thats if you bring them the bare rim.
Brent94Z 01-01-2003, 01:56 PM I think it looks pretty damn cool! The Altezzas and stickers on the back window are a bit much for me but it does add some character!
Joe Brodman 01-01-2003, 03:03 PM Here are MY opinions on the car, which seem to reflect most of what has been said:
- Altezas are gay.....I just hope they NEVER release them for the Firebirds!
- Commando wing looks like ass. I've seen it on both Camaros and Firebirds in person, and it always looks like ass. Though the pic on your head-unit explains EXACTLY why you have that wing, lol.
- The Vent Visor on the back window was tacky, but looks like you removed it; good call. :)
- Clear front signals actually look good on it. The clear rear side markers don't really do it for me; I think they would have been better kept red (the car IS red :) ).
- Both windshield banners pictured look tacky, but the current one is the worst of the two
- Stickers all over are just overdone...car would look so much cleaner without them. The stripes look good, and would have been good let all alone. The GFX are nice, as is the grill insert.
- The white rims are alright; not my taste but not really bad either. The rears look like they stick out a bit; either it was just a weird angle for the pic, or the offset is a bit off.
Also, the 350HO sticker (though I didn't see it, but it was mentioned). GM DOES NOT promote the LS1 as a 350...it promotes it (and correctly) as a 5.7L. When talking about displacement in liters, it is common practice to state its accuracy to a tenth. Well, 5.66L rounds out to a 5.7L. :) Of course, Ford's 5.0 is really a 4.9L, but we won't get into that. :)
So overall, the car is very fixable looks wise, but not something I'd want to drive around as-is.
White Z 4 Show 01-01-2003, 04:34 PM Man I can't believe some of the jerks on this board....oh well :)
Hey dude that car looks real nice. I would say 2 things, any windshield banner needs to be removed and if you do another mod, lower the car just a bit. Besides that, which isn't to big of a thing, I'd love to own that car.
Rims=VERY nice mod
GFX=Help the cars flow
Spoiler=personally one of my favorite spoilers but its like altezza's, people have opinions.
Checkered flag decal on the hood=Nice touch. Its growing on me the more I see it. It looks out of place on SOME cars if they are stock and put the stripes on. I like it thought, very original and trust me, if you enter that in a car show, you will take home a trophy.
For the guy who went back to stock b/c he got critized all the time. Hey, your stock car looks like CRAP! Are you going to start fixing it up again b/c I said that? Dude, its your ride, don't listen to what people say. Did you like it stock or fixed up? Personally I'll fix up every car I have just because I don't want what EVERYONE else has.
On that note, who has ever seen a White LT1 Z28 with chrome Z06 rims with a WW body kit? If so who has a pic of it? I haven't seen on yet. And look, 2 mods and I am custom. Its all about what YOU want to do to your ride.
oh yea, the signature is to long bro, shorten it up a little. lol
chesee48 01-01-2003, 07:41 PM i like the rims!
