hey all, ive searched the forums and google and cant quite come up with a good answer here.
I will most likely be calling t56 rebuilds or another reputable shop and asking their opinions but i figured i'd post here first.
Like the title says, its hard to find 5th and 6th gear. It feels like the 'H' pattern past 4th is totally gone. I can get it to go into 5th and 6th fine if i take my time with it and 'feel' where the gears are before pushing the shifter into position.
~~EDIT--Reverse is also a pain to get into, but it always has been since I got it, and as stated below, everything looked good when it was tore down so iam not sure what would be causing that.~~
The tranny had all new synchros put in about 1k miles ago.
The trans has maybe 100k on it (was in a 97ss before i bought it) and appeared to be in perfect condition except for the synchros being munched when it was tore down.
Iam running a Fidanza aluminum flywheel with a SPEC Stage 3 clutch.
This all started after tuning on the dyno resulting in 575lbs of torque/517hp. Think that has anything to do with it?;)
Ive been reading about the stock shifter 'tower' or whatever its called causing simular problems, which is why iam asking this. I will be taking a look at that ASAP also since i have the stock shifter still.
Any thoughts?
P.S.-for those who might have been reading my other post about tuning and whatnot, iam still trying to figure out whats going on there as well-no luck yet :rolleyes:
