CamaroRacing12 05-18-2008, 01:06 AM blew away my goal for the year last night at the first trip to the track...
Goals for the end of this season were:
1. 3300lbs raceweight (with me in it)
2. 12.99 et
3. a 1.75 60ft
first pass of the year right out of the gate i ran a 12.77 @ 105mph ran 6 runs and my best was 12.73 @106mph
the weather was ok but had a lot of moisture in the air... i still got prostars to throw on and a aluminum driveshaft
maybe a 12.5 by the end of the year? who knows this is insane!

Congratulations thats pretty good. I remember how happy I was when I reached my first goal getting in the 13's lol. Then I was like might as well try for 12's and thats it no more. Well after some modding got in the 12's and was thrilled well now I want high 10's i figured I'd skip 11's. It wont be until next yr though currently deployed but at least it gives me a chance to save up for it. I want to do it on completely stock long block with nitrous. I guess we shall see what happens. Good job on your goal though!!!!

tomcowle 05-19-2008, 07:45 AM Is there any proven gain by switching to an electric water pump? If so I'm getting off my wallet!

Yep. about a tenth and 1mph.
tomcowle 05-19-2008, 08:45 AM Sorry for the hi-jack but I never thought there was that much there. I'll take that tenth...
SNOTGREEN 05-22-2008, 03:26 PM Kinda funny you brought that up Tom, I was wondering the same thing. :)
I've had a whole slew of fbodies, and have yet to purchase an EWP. Definitely food for thought.
BTW, good job getting in the 12's already, you beat me to it!
12SCNDZ 05-22-2008, 04:52 PM Tony, It's all in the transmission:D See, we don't even get any credit in your sig.???:(

78Z28350 05-28-2008, 11:33 PM I was just up at NED tonight, found out I'm probably gonna need a new rear diff soon.
Still hittin 14.2's at 98mph in my stock A4
neil350 05-29-2008, 12:07 AM Great runs, makes me want to try and improve on my bolt on times this winter!
95firehawk 05-30-2008, 01:31 PM What did you do to get to 3300 lbs w/driver? I am weighing my car after work today and pretty sure I am not going to reach those numbers. Back in late 2000 I weighed my car and it was 3480 without me and a 1/2 tank of gas. Since then I have deleted the A/C, front sway bar, spare tire, and jack as well as replaced the stock wheels with Bogart D-10's. However I added weight with a Strange 12 bolt and a Spohn steel DS. Since the car is starting to become more of a weekend warrior I don't think I'll miss anything too bad if I remove it. So what other things have you replaced/removed?
Nice times BTW!
CamaroRacing12 06-02-2008, 01:00 AM thx again guys... i am very happy with how the car is running :) and frank i will def give credit in my sig... check out my sig on ls1tech.com ur in there :)
the car weighed in at 3356lbs with me in it.... i have stripped the trunk bare (kept rear speaker) removed rear seats and belts (kept carpet), have prostar skinnies, !swaybar, !cruise, and i have the rksports sportsback.... a/c, egr, air are all still int he car, but will be coming out this winter :)
the car is consistant as hell also, which is good for my bracket racing series at NED
much thx to Frank Cahill at CPT Transmissions, Yank Converters, John P. (1slowformula), Shon Herron of Herron Performance..... and all my buddies who helped me out with the car over the few years i've had her.... 11.80 is in my sights :)
95firehawk 06-09-2008, 12:13 PM Where did you weigh your car? Do you have cloth seats? How much of a difference did that RK sportsback make? I weighed my car and it still topped in at 3400 even without me in it. It's a little frustrating to see cars like yours that aren't that much different in weight saving mods and still be 300 lbs less. lol. Even if I ripped out all of the trunk trim and the rear seats that can't be but 40-50 lbs max. I'm gonna start looking around under the seats for some lead deposits or something. lol.
CamaroRacing12 06-09-2008, 10:46 PM if im not mistaken firehawks are a lil heavier then camaros from the factory... so ur already starting behind lol... i just take every lil thing i can out that i can do without... stripped trunk, quarter tank of gas, mats out, rear seats, etc etc.... i honestly have no idea how much the sportsback helps but it always seems like im lighter then everyone else and the sportsback is the only real different thing my car has then everyone else...
i dn what to say man... just loose as much things as u can personally do without in the car
95firehawk 06-11-2008, 08:25 AM I'm not too stressed about it. I'm actually going to the track tonight so I need to do a little thrashing when I get home from work to remove a couple of more items. I weighed almost 100 lbs less since the last time so I will be interested to see how the car does. Thanks for the info.
CamaroRacing12 06-11-2008, 08:59 PM Good luck tonight! as long as ur safe, the car dosent break, and u have fun.... its always a good night at the track :)

Ditto on all the above. Good luck bro!
wyldcdn 06-19-2008, 05:38 AM yes ..awesome I recall working hard to get my butt a sub 8 in the 8th. I hit a 8:02 and later that night a 8:03. Buddies were all set to yank seats and stuff to get me my 7 second time. I left it as it was came back a week later ran a 7:86 with my new qtp cutout. I was so freaked out i didn't believe it was my time, or the clocks were wrong. Back it up with a hot lapped 7.9. Damn humid hell weather here ...gotta wait til fall again. Not gonna stand outside waiting to race in 90 plus heat with high 80% humidity
