Whats the best way to bleed slave cylinder?

Well the title is pretty self explanatory... Had trans problems with t56 and replaced a few internal parts and installed new slave cylinder... since then i cant get the car to shift into 4th gear at all and second is a bit tough on the upshift and when downshifting is near impossible. Im wondering if perhaps i improperly bled the slave cylinder and the clutch is not completely disengaging... any help with procedure would be fantastic.

There is a bleed procedure on my Tech Page, but I have read of using a Mityvac and sucking the air out through the reservoir. Seems much easier and probably works better.

Yeah, I used the mighty vac and it took like 5 minutes. It cost $30 at Autozone but works great and you can use it to bleed brakes without anyones help.

The best way to do it is to pull the cylinder all the way out hold it at a 45 deg. angle fill it with fluid..... hook up your line to the master cylinder and then fill the reservoir up with fluid...... keep your cap off of the reservoir..... and push the cylinder back in....if you have the straps you would put them back on and install the slave cylinder and put your cap back on and done.....but in your case you have already put some pressure on the clutch and more then likley the straps are broke...so you would hold the cylinder in with your hands and have a buddy put the cap back on the reservoir before you let go of the cylinder...then install back in......Good Luck..
