2009 chevy traverse

so i been looking for a new car this spring and im a big GM guy so i been looking at cars. i was on the Saturn web page and saw the Saturn view and it had a hybrid one and was shocked to see it get the same gas millage as my cobalt and be able to tow 1500 pounds. but im not huge on the looks but then on the chevy page they said there coming out with a new suv called the traverse.

so my questions are is this pretty much the same vehicle? where can i get more info on it? and will it come in a hybrid version?

im surprised they dont have more info out on it as that its not far from hitting show rooms

No, the traverse will be the size of the outlook.

The Vue is on a similar chassis to the equinox.

i know i been looking at them. my biggest concern is

a) i dont need a car that big its just me and i dont plan on that changing. its more of a fact that i need a car to tow with and i want it to get good millage. its between this and the a cobalt and the cobalt is 10k cheaper.

b) my other big concern is how long will it last 100k? then after its out of warranty how much will the up keep and repair cost me. i do most of my own repair but with this car i couldn't.

Equinox won't be a "greenline" that is a saturn term. And, I haven't heard of anything for an equinox hybrid yet, not saying there won't be one in 2009.

10k is a significant price jump. If you can get by with the cobalt, I would do it, but I wouldn't want to tow much with a cobalt.

Also, in 2009, there will be a two mode hybrid version of the Vue. I believe it will have close to a 300hp engine and get about 24 city, unsure of the highway mileage. I am not sure either of these are worth 10k to you. I am not sure how easy it would be to tow with a hybrid SUV either. No hybrid Vue can be 3500 lbs, but mileage is a big difference there.

Brain fart fixed. (I even provided a Saturn link). They are on the same platform anyway.

well i would be towing a 700 -750 pounds (waverunner and trailer).i have to trade in my cobalt 5speed for either. the auto cobalt is rated for 1000 pounds and the hybrid vue is rated for 1500 pounds.

the cobalt with all the options i want is 16500 but i can talk them down with trade in and money down ill be walking into the dealer with 10-12g down.

the vue hybrid comes with every thing i want already and starts at 26500.

to me i can get away with the cobalt but if things change again and i have to trade it in or sell it what a pain in the rear and i lose out on a lot of money on the other hand maybe newer better hybrids/electric cars will be out

The current BAS Green Line can tow 1500 pounds. The 2-Mode is going to be capable of towing 3500. I've heard roughly 27 on the highway for the 2-Mode version. Pricing hasn't been announced on the 2-Mode, but it will be over $30,000.

My wife is very happy with her 2007 Green Line. Since the Green Line included many things my wife wanted, ABS, aluminum wheels, traction control and some other goodies that were optional on the 2007 Vue FWD 4 cylinder, the Green Line only cost 2k more.

There have been some recalls, but nothing too painful. A lot of it has been integrating improvements made to the newer BAS system.
