i need a new alernator for my 2000 z28.....
im running a new duralast gold battery....
jl audio a1200 monoblock around 250x1 @ 4ohms & jl audio a4300 4 channel amps 75x4w rms @ 4ohm
its professionally installed, no short cuts....hundreds in wiring & accessories alone.....what a good alternator that will keep my damn lights from blinking at night?

clearly the professionall installer didnt do the Big 3 because with a stock alternator and big 3 you should have no dimming at all

If you have installed a underdrive crank pulley that could be your problem also. If so, install a overdrive alt pulley. And also upgrade to larger alt and battery cables, both +pos. and -Neg.

wouldn't a smaller alt pulley make the alt spin faster, thus providing more power?

An alt can only put out so much power. the windings decide how much it puts out. Who did you have professionally install it? I have two amps running a little more than yours and I never see a problem with lights blinking and I have a stock 3rd gen alt.
