So I went to the track for the first time ever; which was also ever my first time going wide open throttle in a car with a stick shift - so I wasn't expecting much. My first run my clutch completely slipped (the old owner said there was only a 100 miles on the clutch, I'm pretty sure he was wrong) so I didn't even really finish the run.
The next run the clutch worked fine, but my tires spun (street tires) and I shifted way too soon. I made a final run, and the tires spun and didn't even grip until well after the 60'. I'm hoping with some radials and more racing I'll be able to do alot better.
Best Run - Not Good at All :bang:
R/T: .470
60': 3.051 :barf:
1/8th: 11.320
1/8th MPH: 72.58
1/4: 16.482 :barf:
1/4 MPH: 98.23
So it seems with the speed the car was trapping at, that is has alot better than 16's in it. But like I said before, I don't like to speed on the streets (tickets aren't worth it, and I just don't like dealing with cops :D) so this was honestly my first time ever going pedal to the floor in a "fast" car.

Get yourself some drag radial and learn how to drive the car and you should see 13's no problem

Some sticky tires and a better clutch and you should have no problem running 13's with that MPH.

go on the 3rd yellow light, not on the green light. u'll be surprised how much that will help ur reaction time
get the clutch issue fixed before anything. last thing you want to do is take it to the track again, smoke the clutch and get AAA'd home.
Just remember to not balls out floor it out of the hole. Gradually get into it.

My first run I actually had a .3 R/T which I thought wasn't too bad for a first time. :D
And thanks for the second tip. I probably was putting a little too much into it off the line.
I should have some Nitto's in a couple weeks.

even if you cant run as fast as some people it's still halarious to see the look on there faces when they get tree'd by a car that has a completely stock engine, especially when your 17

All three of my runs I beat the other car off the line, I was rather surprised because all of these cars seemed to be regulars at the track.

my lowest was a .0001 red light, yes .0001 and it was in test and tune. I start my bracket class this saturday and am going friday to work the rest of the bugs out. So far the car I have this year went 8.47@83mph. Only a 1.92 60' though. Im still getting used to it. Ive only made 3 passes on it.
