96 V6 to an LT1 questions

I have a 96 firebird with about 65k on it and i was looking to swap in an LT1.. I know i will need the complete engine, motor mounts, computer, and possibly the trans
I heard the transmission out of my car.. an auto, should work for the LT1..
Also, since i have an auto, will i be able to use an LT1 that was originally for a manual?
What else will i need? i already have an upgraded suspension and the factory performance package which gave me the 3.42 lsd.
