These are the before pics. My LS1 is coming out.

Its for stroker motors right...? I didn't see any other section where this would really fit. I'll have pics of the motor and details about it later. Hope thats ok.

Everytime I hear 427 I think Ls7. Stroker sounds just as powerful and kickass.

I agree on dumping the true duals, especially in Cali. How in the world do you pass any visual or sniff-test in that state :eek: I think it would be much more sleeper if you put a nice catback (Corsa, etc.) and then did the center exit setup. Now that would be sexy with a 427 thumpin through the pipes :cool: Either way, you have a nice car and project !

motor + install was around 14k. Theres another 7k in various other supporting mods.

I chose the L92 cuz its was less money to get more performance vs. LS2 402.



Fired up the 427 today. Hopefully will bring it home tomorrow.

what is the bore you went on this?

L92 is 4.065", mine was honed out to 4.070"

Well exhaust is piping...so I'm not sure what youre expecting. They are Dynomax Bullet Race mufflers (not glass packs). Custom means they weren't just ordered somewhere, they were custom bent to fit my car, thats all. Its not there to look pretty, its there to be loud. No one has ever called it ghetto before :confused:

****ing loud!!! I couldn't tell a difference between open headers vs the exhaust welded up! I got to drive it a couple miles, and it was fun. It has a TON of torque off the line, and I never exceeded 1/4 throttle.

Robert and I finished the test drive and were gonna adjust the lockup speeds on the converter, and once we tried to restart it.....the starter went out!! AAAHHH!!! Soooo close to taking it home! We thought it was the battery at first, but after changing batteries, it still wouldn't start. A new starter is going in tomorrow, and assuming that fixes it (should cuz the old one had 155k miles on it), I'll be bringing it home tomorrow evening.

This is a really awesome build. I can't wait to see how fast it is.

Its home! This thing is ridiculous. It is obscenely loud! Quite a handful to drive too. I'll get a vid tomorrow. :)

Got about 360 miles on the motor so far. Here it is Idling at ~1100 rpm. Sound quality does not do justice to the real thing though.

Yeah that engine does sound good. And you did it for a lot less than buying one of the Berger Camaros.

Thanks man. Its factory NBM by the way. Will have dyno numbers this coming week. Just finished the break-in. Back in the shop for tuning and Yank PT4000 stall converter.

Well today was going to be the dyno day for the 427. Only to get held back by a malfunctioning wiring harness not reading the cam position sensor. Then on the way home, after about 30 miles, the motor started ticking very loudly, could hear it over the exhaust. Lost power, car vibrates and shakes badly under any kind of power, oil pressure has dropped a little, and the converter is locking up wayy early. Robert will be coming hopefully monday with his trailer to take it back to the shop (very nice of him) and see if they can figure it out. I don't know what the problem is, but I do know its the kind that the instant you hear it, your heart falls into the pit of your stomach.

Hope its nothing major! Awesome car for sure!

Well it turned out to be nearly catastrophic failure. I can't say more than that right now though. I should have it back next week though.

been a long time since i updated this... but basically the motor was toasted because of the builder messed things up. Anyway it was fixed. Put down 487/444 on the dyno. Keep in mind it was 111 degrees that day, very hot. On a cool day we should break 500rw. Doing a 6speed swap right now, so I should gain more. Once we open up the intake lid and maf to 100mm, should pick up more power. Once its all done it should be 550+.

Rocker wasn't tightened down properly, came loose, pushrod jumped up and put metal throughout the motor. Oh and the bearing clearances were not set right and they were totally wiped out.

I just finished a built T56 swap into it last night and took it out for some break-in runs. OMG it was fun! 3rd and 4th on the freeway pull so hard!
