Pampered-Z 04-29-2008, 12:06 PM Planning a gathering at Numidia Dragway Saturday May 31st. Central PA. Track is just outside of Bloomsburg. This is a basic T~n~T day, but we'll have our own lanes. Standard Price $35 to race and $7 for spectators. So even if you don't want to race it will be a good day to just meet and greet people from the boards.
We can run some type of elimination race or throw a few bucks into a gamblers race if there is interest? Also if anyone has never raced we can help, 97TransAm and I (and maybe Kazman - who I need to grudge race!) are going to offer our services helping with dial-ins and running the top end.
http://www.numidiadragway.net/
T~n~T gates open 9am, TNT starts 10am and normally ends around 4ish, so if there is interest we can head over to Knobels after the track and hit the coasters and such.
http://www.knoebels.com/
If there is interested I’ll talk to the track owner about planning more of these. Maybe something more formal in the fall with possible payouts and even a car show?
Please post up if you’re planning to attend.
John B.
kazman 04-29-2008, 01:32 PM John, can you do better than the .259 package I ran Sunday? Or the week before me going -.011 against an old gold nova. Didn't get his last name but he said he runs a little at Numedia. A Tom somebody  Must of been a newbie 'cause we both ran it out and were both about .150 seconds fast. Ah the bracket games on the top end for sure if I didn't go red. Sure you want me giving help????????????????? I will most likely skip the second session at the grove and should be able to help out. Hope you don't make fun of my slow rustang.
Pampered-Z 04-29-2008, 02:11 PM an old gold nova. Didn't get his last name but he said he runs a little at Numedia. A Tom somebody
.259? Ops! adjusting the radio, or watching a 17 second car cruise down the lane. Did that once, was so involved in watching a 4 banger beretta get a 7 second lead I forgot to watch my side of the tree!
No one is going to fault you for pushing the tree against the Golden Retriever!
Tom's been a bit off this year. I noticed he picked it up a bit from last year. He's dialing down about .20 from last year, normally in the 14.6_ range, said it's the new spark plugs. :alert:
Last year I think he ran 95% of his passes in the low 14.8s. I still remember last year when we had the money races, and he entered both foot and electronics weekend races (with no electronics) and he went 21 of 24 rounds! Man were the guys in the dragsters unhappy loosing to him for 4 rounds!
But he's been killer on the tree and running thru the Friday night and Sunday crouds! But this year he has broking out a few times. Like it matters!
Add this to his list of odd things he does: He was in the street final Sunday against Watkins. She didn't get in quick enough and fouled out. And of Course, Tom can't win that way, he backed out and said to reset the tree. He then he waited for her to turn on her second bulb before he went all the way in. He treed here with a .00x but ended up running under by 2 thou and give her the win! Tom just laughted and said it was better loose a fair race then to win a giveme! (I think they split the money any how and I'd never bet against him being the points winner).
Run the Mustang, Nah, dust off the Bird and bring it up!
kazman 04-29-2008, 02:35 PM .259? Ops! adjusting the radio, or watching a 17 second car cruise down the lane. Did that once, was so involved in watching a 4 banger beretta get a 7 second lead I forgot to watch my side of the tree!
Deep staged the stang and slid in another BIG bump. (Changing the brake pads this week). Knew if I hit my spot I would be .040 or so red. Mentally tried to back off the light (bad thing to do) and cut a .189 (better than red). Extra deep inceased my 60' by 5 and et by 7. ugh. I was dialed 13.77 against a 13.29. He was .081 on the tree and I chased him down the entire track right from the gate. Gee I'm the slower car and he in front of me already.
No one is going to fault you for pushing the tree against the Golden Retriever!
Had the car set for an .020 (Tom was .022) Car slid in deeper again. Pattern?

Tom can dial that car on 7 numbers. 14.64321 on be dead on.

Rails love sitting for 7-8 seconds and can't judge on the top end. Maple the Super cut is 11.99.
But he's been killer on the tree and running thru the Friday night and Sunday crouds! But this year he has broking out a few times. Like it matters!
I've seen him do that a couple of time breaks out by .01 or so.
Add this to his list of odd things he does: He was in the street final Sunday against Watkins. She didn't get in quick enough and fouled out. We were talking about swithching cars for the elimination round. I should of taken him up on the offer.
Run the Mustang, Nah, dust off the Bird and bring it up!
Bird is sitting on the trailer with 4 flat tires. Needs new sneakers, mufflers, and a new battery. Mustang will have to sneek in the back gate.
PSU 98 04-29-2008, 06:12 PM So will it be everybody vs. your Mustang then? :D And I heard John wanted a piece of your Formula too! :o
Schweet97Z 04-29-2008, 06:25 PM John needs a car that actually RUNS!!!! :D John I have a nice shiney 9" housing in my basement that would look real good in your car :) Lets get rid of that 10 bolt before it breaks!

Harold,
Stop peddling your parts on John. He has a D1 to buy before he buys that rear housing:p;)
BTW, there's a lot of folks in the parts wanted forum looking for parts that you have...LE heads and big stall converter.
Later,
Steve.
Schweet97Z 04-29-2008, 09:34 PM yea i know, but i dont have the stuff off the car yet. soon i hope!!!
kazman 04-29-2008, 10:44 PM So will it be everybody vs. your Mustang then? :D And I heard John wanted a piece of your Formula too! :o
In case anyone forgot here a picture of the Mustang finally standing still.
http://www.dragraceresults.com/results.cfm?event=1680&track=159
Formula is an even better bracket car able to run 12.00 @ 114-118mph anytime of the season.
97TransAm 04-30-2008, 09:47 AM I just want to do John-Force-burnouts. The bracket racing winning is a formality that allows to keep doing them...
Yep. It'll be cool to help anyone out on the staging and dial-ins. A lot of people helped me since May 31st 2001. It will be nice to return the favors....
Projectz28 04-30-2008, 10:19 AM ordering the new breather tank tonight and going to call around for an alignment asap. I want to go!!!!
kazman 04-30-2008, 10:54 AM ordering the new breather tank tonight and going to call around for an alignment asap. I want to go!!!!
Still got that car????? I thought you had to leave it with the old house since it was attatached to the garage floor. :p Its been soooo long Ron will have to point out the finish line to ya.
Projectz28 05-01-2008, 11:16 AM No I cut out the section of concrete it was on and brought that with me. I'll have to go out and see if I can drive it off there first but I think it can make it!
N20Dave 05-01-2008, 12:03 PM We'll be there. I can also help with those who have never raced.
P.S. anyone wanna run heads up? ;)
97TransAm 05-01-2008, 12:27 PM Its been soooo long Ron will have to point out the finish line to ya.
I'll drive the pace car....
Projectz28 05-01-2008, 12:44 PM We'll be there. I can also help with those who have never raced.
P.S. anyone wanna run heads up? ;)
sure!! how much of a "heads up" do I get that you are going to win?
;)
N20Dave 05-01-2008, 12:48 PM Nothing is a given...
With the way I'm driving lately you'll be in good shape cause I'll surely cut a .150 light or worse and most likely cross the center line at least twice :)
Injuneer 05-01-2008, 01:03 PM How tough is the track on running under 10.0 without a full, NHRA-certified cage, competition license?
Pampered-Z 05-02-2008, 12:51 PM How tough is the track on running under 10.0 without a full, NHRA-certified cage, competition license?
On a TNT you might get by if just under, not if you go deep into the 9s, and only for that day, you won't be allowed back without the proper stuff. On a race day, they would tell you to slow the car down, and only tell you once!
So do I need to bring the trailer down?
Pampered-Z 05-07-2008, 12:25 PM Come no folks, post up you're coming!
I already got called out by Antz! Ron, you let all the air out his tires, Bri, stick a diaper ( used ) in his intake! That should about even us up!
kazman 05-07-2008, 01:48 PM I plan on comming up for the day. Should confuse the tech guy when I want to be put in the F-body lanes. :p
Pampered-Z 05-07-2008, 02:06 PM I plan on comming up for the day. Should confuse the tech guy when I want to be put in the F-body lanes. :p
We'll just put some of Ron's Jegg's stickers over all the emblems
kazman 05-07-2008, 02:09 PM We'll just put some of Ron's Jegg's stickers over all the emblems
 Summit stickers are bigger and make the car go faster.
97TransAm 05-07-2008, 02:41 PM I have an awesomely big "Jet-Hot" sticker....
kazman 05-07-2008, 09:51 PM I will be there but not racing. My daughter wants to try drag racing. She has never raced before even on the street. This will be a great opportunity for first timers to go down the 1/4 mile. I will be on hand to give a short bracket racing class and to answer questions. The owner of the track has basically given John a free hand to run the event as he wishes. I hear the possibility of running a $10- 20 gamblers race and everyone should get a lot of passes. At most tracks your luckey to get 3-4 runs on a test and tune day. If you ever wanted to run you car on a dragstrip this is a golden opportunity.
PSU 98 05-07-2008, 10:51 PM I just want to make a few TNT runs myself. Last time I ran I only had exhaust and intake mods :p Now I have to try and launch on street tires with lots more power.
97TransAm 05-08-2008, 08:51 AM ...Now I have to try and launch on street tires with lots more power.
There will be no drifting on the dragstrip from the start line!!!:no:
Projectz28 05-19-2008, 09:09 PM so you guys still going? I got an alignment done and I should be ready. Just got to put the new breather on and away I go.
My QTP friends tell me I should go to E-town on the 31st for the GM EFI event with them. I think I might make the 3 hr trip to no where land and see if you guys can help me go down the track for the first time in 3 years ;)
97TransAm 05-20-2008, 08:20 AM so you guys still going?
Yes.
if you guys can help me go down the track . ;)
Going down the track is real easy at Numidia. Just set your Garmin to magnetic north and stay straight. Oh, wait.... you don't have any luxuries in the car. Uh, I'll go first, when I'm about sixty feet from the stripe I'll put my four ways on for you to zero in on.... I would do it at seventy feet but I hate getting whooped.
N20Dave 05-20-2008, 11:55 AM Yep
PSU 98 05-20-2008, 12:46 PM I got the day off and I'll definitely be there. So do you think leaving the CD changer in the hatch will help with traction? :D
97TransAm 05-20-2008, 01:08 PM eh, not so sure about that. But since the wieght is past the rear wheels, the folcrum point, it'll help in getting the front wheels off the ground....
kazman 05-20-2008, 11:08 PM Will be there.
Projectz28 05-21-2008, 08:35 PM I gotta try to find a spare tire for my trailer before then but I think I am almost ready. Ron, I suggest you stay off the track for my first run. I might need my lane and yours! ;)
Schweet97Z 05-21-2008, 09:37 PM ill be there to watch. brian can you bring the opti up at that time? :D
Pampered-Z 05-22-2008, 10:52 AM I gotta try to find a spare tire for my trailer before then but I think I am almost ready. Ron, I suggest you stay off the track for my first run. I might need my lane and yours! ;)
What size tire and lub pattern?
ill be there to watch.
RUN YOUR CAR!!!!!!!!!!!!
Schweet97Z 05-22-2008, 11:18 AM RUN YOUR CAR!!!!!!!!!!!!
It wouldnt be worth my time. No sticky tires, plus the 10 bolt thats in the car is sold, and the 10 bolt i have laying here has 4:10's in it, and dont want to break that one. Ill just watch ;)
RacinLT1 05-22-2008, 08:34 PM hmmm,i may have to try to get off that saturday and make an appearance,i havent seen talked to some of you guys pretty much since the magazine deal....
97TransAm 05-23-2008, 09:26 AM We caravaning up the NE-turnip-pike?

Holy crap! Harold I totally forgot about that thing! Yes I will bring it with me, sorry bro!
What size tire and lub pattern?
you dont have it, trust me. The trailer is home made with old mobile home axles, takes a 7-14.5" bias trailer tire I would feel much better about taking the car and trailer 100 miles from home WITH a spare ;)
hmmm,i may have to try to get off that saturday and make an appearance,i havent seen talked to some of you guys pretty much since the magazine deal....
Now theres a name I have not heard in a loooooooong time! Dirk how the hell are ya?! Hope you can make it I would love to catch up on everything from the past few years.
We caravaning up the NE-turnip-pike?
yup! what time and where do you want to meet ;)
Damn kids!
I agree, Run that thing! damn kids....
Projectz28 05-26-2008, 12:52 PM hmmmm, debating on going or not now. Liz wants me home for like 5 or 6. We are supposed to go out for dinner Saturday night. 3 hrs up, $100 in fuel, $100 at the track and 3 hrs home and be home by 6 is going to make it hard to race and have fun. I might just go to E-town instead since its closer.
Harold I am just going to throw your opti in the mail incase I dont come up.

Fuel = $100
Gate fee = $35
Beating up on LS1s = PRICELESS
:D
You can always leave the car at my house?
Projectz28 05-26-2008, 08:36 PM I know, I know... Its not really the money, its the 300 mile trip to try and be home by 6pm. That means I have to leave at like 3 pm. Loaded up and rolling out the gates at 3.
Thats why I was considering E-town instead. 1 hr away.
Let me think about it some more....
Schweet97Z 05-26-2008, 08:46 PM you WILL come....there is no thinking involved...:p
EDIT: Just think now is your time to prove, red cars are faster than black ones....
kazman 05-27-2008, 06:36 AM hmmm,i may have to try to get off that saturday and make an appearance,i havent seen talked to some of you guys pretty much since the magazine deal....
Seems like that was in another lifetime. lol I still have the article on the wall in my cube at work. I'll be comming up in the mustang with my daughter.

Can I place a $2 bounty on the head of pampers Z to anyone who beats him in any kind of organized race. LOL

Let me put the DP manifold on the car, and a set of Hoosiers and ill run the old fart down. Black cars suck!!:D
On a side note.... Ron you need to buy my heads and roll cage!:metal::thumb:

Nice, slapping on a set of slicks then calling me out? So you ARE bringing your car?
How about this,,, Street tire to street tire and put your money where your mouth is?
I'll be waiting for you Harold!!! :thumb:
Scott a $2 bet, so you're putting the pink for your car on the line,,, yuk yuk yuk...

I dont wana make you cry when you get spanked! :p So the car is stayin in the garage. I would love to race it one last time before its gone, but knowing my luck it will break. :( However, I know your car would beat mine. How much power do think your making on stock short block w/ the Procharger?
Pampered-Z 05-28-2008, 03:22 PM CLUCK, CLUCK ,,,,,CLUCK!
J/K, I wouldn't take the chance of breaking anything you plan to seel. I'll just have to wait for you to get an LS1 BEFORE I BEAT YOU DOWN! By then I just might be packing allot more air into the engine. ;)
I'm going to guess around 390-400HP at the wheels. Figure it made 327 with the smaller 211/219 cam and mac headers, this cam should and long tubes I'd say another 20 HP, add a few LBs of boost should put me close.
I know I can't hook on the Nittos, I'd like to see 120MPH traps. Most of the passes will be easy so I can data log and see what the tune looks like.

Projectz28 05-28-2008, 07:04 PM ok, fine I am going. You guys will have to help me out a little. I seriously have no idea what will happen with my car. Its either going to go or blow....
Picked up a spare for the trailer today, now I have to get a Baretta off the trailer and my car on it Friday night. Load the car and hope for the best.
God I hope I dont break this thing. If it does its going to be sitting for a long, long time.
No muffler rules up there in no mans land right?

You have hot wheels? Well thats real good. And I'm glad they run often, like this Saturday? I guess you'll be home making vroom - vroom sounds while all the men are at the track racing REAL CARS! .... :D
Or you could come to Numidia and race with us, but it might take you a long time to push a hotwheel 1320 feet!:devil::devil::devil:
Projectz28 05-28-2008, 08:35 PM I thought you only had to push Black cars?
Ron you want to bump into me somewhere on the way up? I think I am going to head out 76 to 467 up to the NE extension. Meet on the extension?
97TransAm 05-28-2008, 10:20 PM Lansdale Interchange. I might have daughter's boyfriend in tow with a '01 6cyl camaro. That'll anchor me to the speed limit....
But I am having a "problem (http://www.wunderground.com/cgi-bin/findweather/getForecast?query=17858+)". :(

WAXER! :p
Projectz28 05-29-2008, 12:24 PM You know my Hoosiers are a "DOT" approved tire... Does that count?
Who do I get to race? Maybe you all should decide after I get there and you hear the 3+ year "project" start up for the first time...

97TransAm 05-29-2008, 02:05 PM Who do I get to race?
Me.
You'll just end up leaving a two foot pile of smoking rubber at the start line because of too much power and no grip....
Pampered-Z 05-29-2008, 03:06 PM Man, I hate to do even post this, but right now the weather is a 70% chance of a FOUR LETTER WORD for Saturday. now 20-30 percent is a maybe, but 70% =
If it doesn't look better, then we are going to have to settle for bench racing. The alternate plan in to maybe install Steve's TC, then head to the Lube for wings and such,
I'll keep everyone posted.

97TransAm 05-30-2008, 08:40 AM Here I was looking forward to being schooled good by "I got some much horsepower, my tires won't go 60' " (Bri) and "I beat you bad with that red light" (John).
Dang.
John... maybe we can try again on June 7th? Although we might be bumping into pocono traffic for the Nascar race(s) that weekend. June 14th is a no-go for me.
Missing "school"...
ron
kazman 05-30-2008, 08:55 AM I'm going to nix the event. Weather looks bad. :( Maybe next time.
Projectz28 05-30-2008, 09:12 AM yeah I have been watching the weather for a few days but I didn't want to be the guy to say the 4 letter word first.
I'll go with a chance of showers but its gonna be raining its ass off tomorrow. That storm system is big and no way its going to miss us. I'd rather not drive 3 hrs for rain.

28th?
I think my daughter has something planned on the 28th. Something about her wedding. :D
97TransAm 05-30-2008, 09:56 AM hmmmm....
the 14th for me is an evening grad party. I guess I could do the "morning session" and leave around 3ish.
the 21st is The Carol and Jess are doing a Penn State visit so I have to be mindful of the "boys" (German Shepherds) at home.
....and I have a deck party on the 28th... on my deck.
PSU 98 05-30-2008, 11:22 AM I'll see what it's like tomorrow, if I wake up and it's raining I won't go :(
Tom said the garage will be open tomorrow so that might work in my favor. I'd love to get this converter in, earlier than expected.
Projectz28 05-30-2008, 11:34 AM that pretty much pushes it to July, If thats the case might as well make a meet at Tim's event at Island on August 9th. East Coast Nats...
Im out for the 3rd week in July. Going away for work from the 20th to the 26th.
I hate Rain!!!!! Its been perfect all week and the one day we want to go do something outside it has to rain on our parade!!!!
Projectz28 05-30-2008, 11:36 AM I think my daughter has something planned on the 28th. Something about her wedding. :D
thats a lame excuse Jim... at least make up something better like your woman wants you home by a certain time ;)
Pampered-Z 05-30-2008, 11:51 AM Problem is Numidia isn't open every Saturday, The Sat points days we wouldn't be able to do whast we want, 120-150 points racers means not much T~n~t time. The July 5th night there will be Jet cars and a fireworks display so I don't even think we could T~n~T that night?
They aren't open the 22nd and 28th of June, (22nd is NHRA weekend at E-town too)
Now IF I could ganentee some type of car count I could probably get a T~n~T day opened or probably even a track rental at a good price!
Next event I thinki I might actual hit is Superchevy. But that's onlt a maybe right now.
As far as the Nats in Aug, I'll be out of town that weekend.
97TransAm 05-30-2008, 12:43 PM ....Final Fall Fling at Numidia this year? Then I won't have to worry about the park rangers when the burnouts contest starts up. ;)
BonzoHansen 05-30-2008, 01:15 PM I'll give you the same offer the Damn Kid got:
WAXER! :pNah, I don’t talk ****. I know my car is slow, but at least it has been seen fully functional in public in recent memory. :p Besides, Rich waxes my car. Go polish your throttle body some more.

That might be fun – hey Sliderule, how long of a ride is that from civilization, whoops, I mean here?
Pampered-Z 05-30-2008, 01:52 PM how long of a ride is that from civilization, whoops, I mean here?
Well that depends, it's aboiut 140 miles, up the NE ext. then across 80 is about140 miles. across 78 and up 61 is shorter, but hilly, won't want to tow thru pottstown or frackville.
My truck = 2.5 -3 hours.
Ron = about an 1.5 - 2.0
Antz = probably about an hour!
97TransAm 05-30-2008, 02:05 PM Ron = about an 1.5 - 2.0
...I've done it 2.25 hours....doing 80 on the flats and 100+ uphill.
Antz travels at the speed of stupid+. But you forgot to figure in the more frequent stops for gas... I also notice that after a bit of high speed runs, the front fascia needs to be cooled or else the whole thing will suddenly "blob" and then flow up and over the windshield.
Projectz28 05-30-2008, 05:05 PM its 2.5 - 3.0 from here. Depends on what road. If I have the car in tow probably 3.0+. Bout 140 from me.
97TransAm 05-30-2008, 09:45 PM Final Fall Fling would have been October 12th this year. I'm willing to promote the event at Numidia for October 11th. But we would need track committal and a group of particpants committal... no bs. John, I by no means want to steal your thunder, but seems that by missing this weekend, we are all well into August before getting together. So I'm offering my shin-dig up to you at the track... what do you all think?
PSU 98 05-30-2008, 11:01 PM I think it's an excellent idea Ron. Maybe make a weekend of it with a cruise day and track day. Lots of time to plan too.
Pampered-Z 05-31-2008, 09:30 AM Well it's official; day is cancelled due to the rain. We'll have to replan.
Projectz28 05-31-2008, 12:13 PM I would have been late anyway. I picked up Liz's aunts old Beretta from her driveway last week. Its sitting on my trailer. The car has not been driven in over 7 years. Well I went out this morning to take it off and the keys were locked in it, doh!
Took me an hour to break in.
Well I am sad it didn't happen. Lets definately plan something else!
PSU 98 05-31-2008, 02:51 PM Yeah it rained all of three minutes here today, just long enough to screw everything up  A good soaking rain I could've lived with but that just pisses me off.
Projectz28 05-31-2008, 08:15 PM rained for a few hrs here. Well, started at 12 for an hour. stopped for an hour, raind for an hour, stopped for an hr then had a quick shower again and then it was georgeous and sunny. Honestly if the track was dryed off probably could have raced. I should have went to E-town and gotten in a run or 2 by 12.
