GM performance targets

This may be old info, but I have come across the GM performance targets for the Camaro.
These are only targets. They are not the actual performance figures.

0-60 time 6 speed auto:
Camaro LS/LT – 7.5/5.8 sec
Camaro SS – 4.5 sec

0-60 time 6 speed manual:
Camaro LS/LT – N/A
Camaro SS – 4.8 sec

It also had some HP figures:
Camaro LS/LT – 296 HP w/HFV6 SIDI
Camaro SS – 390-395 w/auto
Camaro SS – 415-420 w/manual

Composite handling index:
Camaro LS/LT – 1.63
Camaro SS – 1.50

It is interesting to note that the auto is faster even though the manual has more HP. I am a little confused on that one.

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that LS/LT is the V6 application?? Well, I sure hope that the V6 app. isn't called LS/LT...AND I feel as though the manual would still make it to 60 quicker if the HP level was even. The target seems reversed...So that doesn't make much sense...What's your source??

Where'd that price info go? Black suburbans get you already?

If it's a true source, I'd be interested to know why the V6 model's acceleration times vary so much, and also why a manual for it isn't listed.

Yeah.. I started to think that maybe this info is not for public consumption. This just looked like old info for performance targets.

I already think this car will be a winner, but if the performance and price targets shown are met fairly closely it should great.

I really do wonder about the times in V6 trim, and the seeming lack of a manual for it.

Well You've already posted most of the info...why not go all out!

The 27k you posted for the SS seems to be a little better than what everyone was expecting. I'll be very happy if they meet that particular goal!

i dont think that they would make different hp ratings just for manual and auto. they would keep the same hp.

That 6-spd automatic must be really good if it's 3/10ths quicker to 60 than the 6-spd manual.

Also, the V6 Camaro should not be called "LS" or "LT". Just call it Camaro.

I believe I've read the 1st gear in the 6speed auto is brutal compared to the manuals. I don't think there would be more than a tenth or two at most.

If your pricing target info is even close, It may be very likely that I will be able to afford a top dog

Auto and Manual 3rdgens were often times different with the manuals being rated higher.

I missed the pricing info that was posted, apparently it got edited out.... But if the SS is around 27k I would be freakin stoked!

But they actually had different cams for auto and manuals back then, I wonder if we would see this return, i doubt it but that would be something.
