Which would be the best combo??

I have been doing research on some suspension mods, and I am having a hard time deciding what to go with. I would like to do everything at once, but when I mention it, the wife's eyebrows raise rather quickly. I would like to know what I would see as a benefit from either subframe connectors and lower control arms, or SFC's and a panhard bar, or just LCA's and a PHB. Like I said, I'd like to do all three at once, but I think that the best I can hope for is just 2 out of 3. I was thinking of using Hotpart.com for everything, I am really impressed by their poly ball bushings.

Do the SFC's for sure. They will be the single biggest upgrade you can start with. I'm using the tubular UMI 3-point SFCs, because I don't run a tunnel brace. Also, get the weld-in version, much better rigidity. I also like the fact that they reinforce the LCA bolt locations.

Between a panhard or LCAs, I'd go LCAs. They'll improve off the line performance before a panhard will. Panhard gives better lateral stability at highway speeds. I like the combination poly bushed/rod end pieces for on-car adjustability, then you don't have to worry about bind from having all poly bushings. I have Spohn LCAs, UMI panhard, and Spohn torque arm.

Just my opinion though, like anyone else. But SFCs for sure.

That's good to know, I ordered the SFC's and the LCA's. I can't wait until I get them on!

Well, I got everything installed, and WOW!!! The SFC's made a HUGE difference in the ride quality and responsiveness of the car. I'm sure that the LCA's had something to do with it as well, but it was definitely a good combo to put on!

what did it do as far as ride quality goes?

The only way that I can explain it is that if "feels" more solid. Even when I backed out of my garage, I didn't get the squeaks and rattles that I used to. Also, driving down the road, it feels more in contact and stable. I think that it is a great mod to do.

Woohoo! That's what I want to hear! My '87 t-top car has a shakey, shuddering feel to it. SFC's should solid things right up.

It would definitely help, especially on a 3rd gen. I had a '92, and while I liked how it felt, it was a hardtop, and I don't "drive" it as much as the '95.
