Only headers I have heard of with problems is the SLP 1 3/4". What is hitting exactly? The brake booster?? That is surprising. Usually they hit the steering shaft, and you can loosen those bolts under the dash and slide the steering column over to gain more clearance.

looks like its hitting the brake lines under the master cylinder also looks like it may make contact with the brake booster,,,

I relocated my brake lines to the other side of the steering shaft by removing the steering shaft, rebending th elines, and reinstalling the shaft. It made a huge difference and should improve braking by keeping brake line temperatures down.

Try that: It's only an hour's worth of time. Just be careful to keep the radius as large as possible.

well i came home today to the mechanic i hired yelling screaming and bleeding from his skirt (where actually good friends) he said the headers wouldnt fit,, well we removed the master cylinder off the brake booster took off the steering shaft and pop they went in,, my question is,, im thinking of warpping the brake lines with fire blanket(stuff we use at work on residential oil fired boilers,, it actually takes a flame head on for 20 years in most cases,, you cant burn it if you tried.. also on the passanger side,, should i be worried about that metal coolant line thats touching the header pipe??? get back to me

Err, I dont know which coolant pipe you are mentioning... Is it EGR? Anyway, the heat shield around the brake lines might be a good idea, but in reality you probably only need about half an inch of space between the header and brake line. I once had my fuel lines run over the transmission tunnel (car was originally carburated) and had some vapor lock problems with my first set of headers. I encased the steel fuel lines with a piece of thin sheet metal that was screwed between the header and the lines, and that was all it took to eliminate all vapor lock issues. If you have access to industrial heat sheilding it might be prudent.

its an actuall antifreeze pipe. coming off the switching valve its an actuall metal the only metal coolant pipe. whats prudent mean haha:D

Dude, you shouldve just took the motor mount bolt out,the oil filter off and jacked the motor up on the oil pan (with a piece of wood between the jack and pan...ive done this 4 times when I had my 87) and put it in that way. I had the same headers on mine and I never did anything that drastic to get mine in.

Sorry for being a little late lol.
