Inner tie rod removal

I have to replace my rack and pinion in my car, but first I have to take the old inner tie rods out of this one I'm putting in my car. I know they are supposed to just come off like a bolt but it just isn't cooperating. I have this picture for reference http://shbox.com/1/innertierod.jpg but the tie rods aren't budging. Maybe it would work better if it was actually bolted in the car but that's not an option since I got this one from a salvage yard and with the bent tie rods it wouldn't even reach where my stock ones are now.

Any advice?

Maybe put it in the car and bolt it up then get the right tool. Its like a tub with detachable ends with different sizes. You may be able to rent it somewhere

From that picture on shoebox's site you can just use an two wrenches. I'm not sure what else you could do. I'm sure I can rent the tool at Advance though.

Ended up going to Lowe's and getting a huge ass crescent wrench. Took me on one side, my roommate on the other since it wasn't on the car, but we got it with two wrenches.

Well according to the picture, it's got loc-tite in the threads ;). That may pose as a bit of a problem! ;)

My replacement rack came with new inner tie rods.

I'm in college so I had to go with one from a salvage yard, but I'm really glad the rack went out cause the old tie rod was almost wore out in the ball joint. You could basically move the ball around as if the socket wasn't even there. I'm really lucky it hasn't popped out before. The new one cost me about 60 dollars for the inner and outer tie rods, so if anyone else has to replace them you might as well just buy a whole new rack, cause they cost 142 when I checked.
