instrument cluster quick question

im changing the bulb color on my cluster to 194r red blubs on a 02 z28 i need to know if im suppose to remove the black paper in the cluster while im doin this

there seems to be a black papwe inside the cluster not the overlay but it just finished installing everying and the cluster looks pinkish y is that

Yes, you have to. The film is blue, so it won't be red light coming thru.

do i have to replace it with red film or just completely remove it but im using regular bulbs and not leds but i was thinking on just replacing the blubs

the film INSIDE it? I'm confused. We put red LED's in a 98 camaro and it turned out fine, but I guess its the slightest bit pinkish. But I have red LED's behind a red glowing firebird cluster that is much more vivid. Is it because of What you're talking about?
