I pressed out the lower ball joint and pressed in a new one. It is hard to see inside the bottom of the ball joint to see if it pressed as far as it could go. I used an impact gun and it pressed in, but how do I know if i pressed it in correctly. First time doing this job. car is a 98 Camaro. Thanks for any help.

i would say jack the car up on the lower control arm of the side u replaced...get a pry bad and put it under the tire...lift up and release to see if there is any play in the ball joint...if not then i would say ur ok

i'm in the same boat... it looks as if it is pressed in further on the outside(to the left) than the inside(to the right) and i can't seem to push it in any further. i wasn't able to use an impact because my car isn't high enough in the air... and my jackstand is maxed out... i would take it out and try to repress it. but i had to cut off part of the stud of the original ball joint to use the press i got at auto zone. so if there is no play im good? or what? this is in my v6 camaro not the s10 in my sig
