they don't make wider salad shooters. you can get them widened though custom, it will cost a little bit. if your car is loud in the first place, it won't be sleeper anyways haha

After you had them widened, the next question would be what kind of tires are you going to use? There just aren't any significantly wider high perfromance or drag radial 16" tires available.

For widening, check this:

I've seen Vaughn Machine's work on another set of wheels, and I was impressed by the quality.

Agreed, Injuneer. There isn't anything really available for a 16'' wheel. You'll have more choices w/ a 15'' and a 17" wheel than anything.
You could get some silver 17x__ zr1's. They're pretty cheap and also have a stock appearance as if they actually should have been there in the first place.

+1 for zr1's

no, afraid not...The salad shooter is often regarded as one of the most ugliest wheels that has ever been on a GM vehicle. :)

I didn't quite think that way when I bought my car in 96, but by today's standard it isn't a very sought after wheel if you catch my drift ;) I'm fortunately running TTII's now, need to get around to updating my sig and avatar as my car has had a major facelift inside (engine) and out...

I'm j/k for the most part, I can see how people don't like em, but you can't really expect much from 93-96 stock rims on anything. Today, it's common for cars and trucks rolling off assemblie lines with 18'' or 20'' wheels. Times have definetely changed...

Bact to the original topic though, IMHO it isn't worth widening salad shooters. It would be easier, and cheaper to go find some aftermarket 17's and if you're high on the salad shooters, I'd just keep them how they are.

I'm sorry.... the stock 93-94 Firebird wheels are the ugliest wheels that GM has ever put on a vehicle. They make the salad shooters look good. :D I do not have a single picture of my car with the stock wheels. They disappeared very quickly.

haha i agree about the firebird wheels. look like grandam wheels.

about widening a salad shooter. you can toss a drag radial or a full slick on the car, sizes such as 255-50-16 would fit right on there and hook better than any 315 street tire. and unless your dipping into single digit 1/4 miles the width isnt gonna matter as much as the tire compound. so run stock salad shooters with like 225s in the front and the 255 slicks in the back:D

Ok I agree engineer, I forgot about the early Firebird wheel...lmao. salad shooters are still pretty fugly with that considered...The mustang wheels from 94? http://www.motorheadsperformance.com/B's%20'94%20Mustang.jpg

Are pretty crappy as well.... :)

Edit: This is the mustang that we're going to put into the wall on purpose at the LTX shootout. j/k
