my ****ty intercooler welds and new hood latch. still working on the saftey catch. i plan on running 2 pipes out of the top pf the intercooler to the throttle body. i will have to notch and box the rad support to do this.
http://img210.imageshack.us/img210/3295/img0085ek2.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
new aluminum fan monts. i had to lower the fans to fit the dual 3" down pipes. i also had to lower the swaybar 2" but it should still be higher than the k member..

akafred 04-07-2008, 06:21 AM 60-1's

reamo04 04-07-2008, 12:17 PM definately nice lookin headers.
TasTe GOOD 04-08-2008, 12:36 AM loving your build man, keep up the posts
Sparkz28ss 04-08-2008, 01:10 AM nice lookin hot parts..
dig the setup
akafred 04-12-2008, 10:51 PM just waiting on parts, and my argon ran out. got a new bottle today and made some wastegate flanges today.
Tricked-Out-Toy 04-15-2008, 02:33 PM Looks awesome! what do you plan on doing to the engine?
akafred 04-15-2008, 09:38 PM right now its stock probaly under 5lbs.. i have another engine that will be built mid summer. probably try to get 3mo out of the stocker hopefully i dont pop it. doesnt really matter if i do pop it just would be a bit of a waste as its a low k motor.
my new engine will be a 383.
heads i have ported stockers that made the numbers in sig.
je 31cc dish pistons
eagle forged 3.75
eagle 5.7 H beams (probably get upgraded bolts)
eagle 4 bolt mains
i have arp head bolts may get studs
probably get some high z 79lb injectors and twin intake pumps
jammer94 04-16-2008, 12:23 PM who fabbed up them headers for you?
akafred 04-16-2008, 07:46 PM i fabbed them up..

akafred 04-19-2008, 10:33 AM can i pull oil from the back of the engine where the presure sender is?
also will i be able to hook my pcv breather into my turbo inlet? will i need a oil separator?
reamo04 04-19-2008, 12:18 PM 1) yes, you can pull oil from the aux. port above the filter
2) you can do that, if you do, you will need an oil/water seperator, can be had for like $5.
Your other option for the PCV vent, is to run the breather tube off the passenger side VC into a "breather tank". like this http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=SUM%2DG1504&N=700+115&autoview=sku
akafred 04-19-2008, 09:17 PM i want to pull oil from the back of the engine behind the intake mainfold. there is a 1/8" fitting that the oil sender goes into. i want to add a t and run the oil sender and the turbos.
also i think that i may need a smaller catch can.

Yes, you can pull oil from there as well. Just add a T-fitting, or in your case, 2 T-fittings.
akafred 04-21-2008, 06:36 PM notched rad support today

akafred 04-24-2008, 09:19 PM here is one very similar to the one i used. it will hold 750lbs should be ok.

4SFEDZ 04-25-2008, 05:40 PM wow good work!!!!!
96SilverRam 04-26-2008, 11:48 AM Wow, very nice work! Great job on building the headers and the general fab-work. More pics & progress
reamo04 04-26-2008, 12:53 PM you should ditch that MAF and go speed density with a 2 bar map tune :)
akafred 04-26-2008, 01:32 PM you should ditch that MAF and go speed density with a 2 bar map tune :)
for now its staying... i have a piece of pipe thou that will be used to removely maf if i do a 2 bar tune.. for now with this stock motor it will only see 4-5 psi with maf
mid summer i am going to start a engine build and it will go 2 bar no maf.
akafred 05-06-2008, 09:31 PM still have to feed turbos oil and drain
build exhaust
run heater hoses
bov and wastegate boost and vacume lines
drain the 3 yr old gas from the tank
make new rad overflow
make new power steering tank
make new washer fluid tank
drop sway bar ~2"
re plum brake lines

akafred 06-07-2008, 08:28 PM car fired up today for the first time in 4 years. after hearing how quiet it is with just 15" of down pipe i have decided to not run mufflers.. i will just run cats. car had no coolant in it so i only let it run for a bit. also i never hooked up the charge tube to the throttle body as it was still programed with tons of timing.. i more or less wanted to see if this motor was any good..
i need to re route my one rad hose and am looking for some sch20 pipe and weld on elbows. does any one know where i can get this? or even better 1.25 od s/s tube and bends.

slomarao 07-18-2008, 05:48 PM real nice build. Jealous:)
B-Rad420 08-04-2008, 07:02 PM Awesome work! Love the fact that you kept a/c. You have some amazing skills man.
akafred 08-04-2008, 07:50 PM yeah i have been ripping around with it lately.. it goes pretty good. my fuel pump is crapping out i need to get the dual walboros.. it leans right out up top and the pressure drops off.
i am getting 20 miles per gallon mixed town highway, with the stock engine.. its making me want to keep the compression on the higher side so my mpg's dont take a crap when i put the new engine in.
akafred 09-03-2008, 09:06 PM http://img98.imageshack.us/img98/5700/summer08008en3.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
96SilverRam 09-03-2008, 09:52 PM This project is really starting to come together ! What expansion tank are you running on the drivers side ?
akafred 09-03-2008, 10:06 PM the aluminum tank is a rad oveflow tank.. its a custom one off akafred unit..
BlackBird97 11-27-2008, 02:20 PM Holy Shi* that is a SICK setup. You should market it! Have you brought it too the dyno yet?
akafred 11-27-2008, 07:48 PM nope i was going to but the clutch started to slip.. my injector duty cycle tells me it should be making ~450rwhp as i am running 11.5 afr and maxing out 42lb/h injectors at 65psi (6lbs boost)
i am trying to get some money together to build a 383 stroker, and a dual disk clutch.
RealQuick 11-27-2008, 08:28 PM Awesome setup! I'd love to build a serious setup like that for someone.
akafred 11-28-2008, 04:26 PM i cant wait to put a real engine behind those hairdryers. this stock engine bores me.. with the 9.00:1 cr 383 i plan on putting in there it should work allot better. i should be able to make 700hp to the wheels i hope.. i would go lower on the compression but that would require me selling my ported heads and buying some trickflows or AFR's. i think 9.0:1 should make it fun to drive on the street.
RealQuick 11-28-2008, 06:58 PM 9:1 CR is fine!
akafred 11-28-2008, 07:14 PM actually i just recalculated and it would end up at 9.4:1 if i want to have any quench i would end up 9.4:1
i figured 383 with 31cc dish .029 gasket and .010 deck height and 54cc heads.
DirtyDaveW 12-04-2008, 09:24 PM Man, your welding prowess is incredible. Is that what you do for a living? Keep up the good work and continue to portray it here. It's inspirational. :)
akafred 12-04-2008, 09:34 PM no i don't weld for a living. never have hopefully never will. this it my first welding project. i bought a 500A transformer tig machine for 50$ (400$ by the time i got supplies) and started practicing. i do however work in the metal industry.
welding as a trade is a dirty job that can be bad for your health..
DirtyDaveW 12-04-2008, 10:23 PM Well, all I can say is you must be a welding prodigy then. I've seen guys welding for quite awhile whose welds look like crap. Yours looks like a certified pro in the pictures. Kudos to you.
