OneFlyn95z28 04-01-2008, 12:37 AM Hey guys and gals.
many of you may not remeber me But I have been around for a while. Ran a ATI back in 1999 or so at 14+ Psi before the ATI desided to puke its guts through my then new engine.
Well the years have passed and the turbo guys are coming on hard but have the same issues and usual. I am stuffing a bottle every other pass through my LT1 and thinking of going back to the boost.
I have looked over the turbo stuff and it is just not for me. Consistancy is an issue and I run brackets alot.
I am looking at the F-2 series and thinking 440C.i. SBC.
Any one running a simular setup?

Stop by at the shootout! ;)
roguedriver 04-01-2008, 03:44 PM My buddy is running an F-2 on his 91 mustang. The thing is flat out nasty. On a 440ci set up, that will be nothing for a turbo guy to sneeze at, thats for sure!

You bet Josh. I will be flying in friday night. No way we can make it other wise sorry to say.
The goal is to run at least as fast as the car is certified at 8.50
Now if Lonnie would get back to me I can start planning ;)

Don't make too many plans yet, I have a few ideas. :D
slomarao 04-01-2008, 11:20 PM are you planning on a 440ci LT1? That would be interesting?

I was going to do that about five years ago but the machinest ripped me off and then the final cost was near $6k to do the block with no gauntees it would hold all the sleeves. At the time I was working on LSx stuff that was dropping sleeve and I wanted NO part of that.
This will probably be a GM Race block big bore. 4in stroke with 4.185 bore that would spin with in the LT1 pcm 7,200 limit ;) I Still have the 18* top end laying around to feed it. Boost would probably be lower then expected due to the high flowing system I would use to make the most of what I could stuff in it.
The HP Goal would be 1250RW
Ponyhntr 04-02-2008, 10:59 AM Are you planning on running a certain class or sanctioning body? Or just local stuff?
SSandman 04-02-2008, 11:16 AM You may want to look on the impala boards for a guy named Jeff Green. He's running a donovan 400 race block modified for an LT1 front. 4.155 bore and 4" stroke making 434cid's. He's running a paxton novi and must be making well over 1200(fwhp) all on pump gas to get his 4400 pound race weight car into the mid 9's w/ 3.73's and a 3000 stall in a 4l60e:eek: (don't even ask me how that stays together, I have no idea). He's only running something like 15PSI, thats a well breathing motor. He has helped me out a lot with blower advice, helpful guy!

airflowdevelop 04-07-2008, 10:34 AM Ellis,
I have 2 customers running F2's on lt1's. What would you like to know?

Looking for all kinds of stuff now. From how they are mounted and driven(off the crank) to the power output they are getting.
airflowdevelop 04-07-2008, 02:59 PM both cars use the traditional SBC mount, which makes a pain to clear the blower pulley/top of the blower and the hood. If you fool around with it you can get it better, but it has been easier to just put a bump in the hood. Both cars are dual keyed, one has a BBC snout. Both use a ATI balancer, both are cog driven. as far as "public" engine dyno numbers, 385" made 1490 on a SF902. OE block still alive and kickin! 1200 RWHP is very doable.
If I can answer any additional questions, let me know.

For these reasons I have a different idea. ;) If you want to now Ellis, let me know. :D

You know I do LOL!
Good info there. Got to be a way to not notch the hood ;)
