I am wondering with a performance rebuilt tranny how many miles could I expect out of it? Will it last as long as a stock one? Longer? Shorter? Much shorter? Obviously more power and more track passes will shorten the life. I just mean in general, how long could these theoretically last?

That all depends on who builds it, and what parts are installed. I've had plenty of transmission built by other "big name" shops that have came into mine with less than 500 miles on them. We'd expect one our "Pro Race" 4L60E's to survive atleast 3 years, in a low 11 second/high 10 second car. We have many out there that get raced every other weekend, and have eclipsed that goal.

So if one were to RARELY take it to the strip it could feasibly last as long as a new stock one? Meaning 100k miles? Or do they not last long with the components.
Don't talk about others inability. Just tell me your tranny's ability.

All the parts we replace to build a race unit are of higher quality than stock parts, so they should certainly last longer.
In my comparison, I'm only trying to point out that it's how it's built. I know of some builders who use weaker parts in their builds than the stock transmission have, so obviously, the transmission will last a shorter period of time. I can't answer your question without making that point known.
9.7 @ 146 for 2 years with 10-15 runs on it a month...Plus street driving/racing.

Cool. That's what I wanted to know. I didn't know if the parts typically used to handle more power also had a shorter lifespan because of it.
I know the 4l60e is not known for it's ease of building up.
Thanks
