Well I have not been following the news lately, BUT I have heard people are on a "list" and already put money down at dealerships. They "know" the new camaro will have the Ls2... I dont want to argue but is this true, I just want an answer and if its true can someone post some proof?

No LS2.

So far as I've heard...there'll be a DI V6, and possibly the Turbo 4. Look for a 400hp V8....and that's as specific as I can be without starting to guess, and speculate. Sorry.

Dealers have probably less information than we do here at CZ28. Better to keep your money and collect the interest on it than letting the dealer and remain on a waiting list.

Why worry about it??? It's 2 years away, and my guess is that this camarrow thing is going to remain a unicorn...Seriously, it's been a concept for what, 4 years now??? Until I see a real car for sale in a showroom, i'm going to remain dubious, and it's not like they're gonna be going for less than 40k initially, will be huge premiums for the first half of the year anyway...

Chevrolets website lists the LS2 engine, 21 and 22 inch wheels, and will be out in 2009...Yet they still have cartoons represented instead of a real car...Why not just quit dicking around, are they going to make the car or not...Like WTF are they waiting for??? Gas will be 5$ a gallon, and there will be no market for this car, less than 1% of the population will consider buying one...I'm in that 1%, and would like to see a car, not BS...

Unless some unforeseen act of god closes the Oshawa plant in Canada, where the Camaro will begin being built at the end of this year, there is no reason not to believe GM when they say the Camaro will be released in the first quarter of 2009 as a 2010 model year car. I know it has been a long wait but the wait has finally come down to months and no longer years It really sucks waiting so long though, my '93 is too old and I need a fast replacement (this month). So I won't be buying the Camaro when it debuts next year. but that does mean I'll have to wait for my 30 month lease to end just after the LS8 Camaro is on the streets

In all though taking the concept to release on an entirely new chassis in 3 years is pretty good. The Camaro will hands down have a much better ride quality with the independent rear suspension. It will also weigh much less than the Challenger, which was able to be rushed to production earlier b/c it sits on an old, heavy, solid axle chassis (...and weighs over 4,000lbs).

The LS2 is no longer in production, so the Camaro will not see it. The LS3 is a good bet, though. The 300 HP direct injection 3.6L V6 from the CTS will also be going into the Camaro.

And for GM to get the car from concept to production in a little over 2 years is nothing short of a miracle. People use the Challenger for comparison, but the Challenger uses a pre-existing chassis and parts, so not much went into making it. The Camaro rides on a brand-new, built from scratch platform. Again, it's a miracle they're getting it out as quickly as they are.

LOL. I don't mean for the guy to take it personnally, but "CAMARROW" is certainly a new and interesting way to misspell it.

Scott stated in Cleveland 3 weeks ago as saying the Camaro will be in show rooms this time next year. When he said that it was still Feb.

These are not facts , but if I were a betting man I would go all in on 304 hp DI v6 as standard , and a SS with a 402hp LS3 . With 6 speed auto's and manuals avail .

You're a real optimist aren't you. Why even bother coming here? Where's that "OMG, the sky is falling" smiley.

And for the record, the concept debuted in 2006, meaning it's been a concept for two years, not four, as long as a wait it may seem to us.
