I have a Gen V 454 big block with the stock TBI setup. I was going to run a 750 carb with an edelbrock air gap but I found a nice deal on an intake, 1000cfm throttle body, fuel rails, injectors and wiring harness and I wanted to know what else would I have to do for this to swing over and fire up a 92 camaro RS that currently has a V6. Can anyone help me?

sounds like a fun project but is the 454 stock? if it is its really not even worth dropping in until you can do some work to it, in stock forms they really are pigs.

your gonna need to either buy or make engine mounts, and headers/manifolds, a method of fuel delivery,

what tranny will you be running? you might need a new crossmember and driveshaft

A stock Gen V is only rated at 250-260 HP. Even with a mild cam swap and intake change, you won't get a whole bunch more. NHRA stock eliminator factor is 310hp. The heads have a non adjustable valve train so a cam swap is limited unless the valve train is changed to an adjustable style. The heads are also small peanut ports designed for truck use and rpms below 5000 rpm. The stock TBI is rated around 660 CFM. The engine is very low compression at 7.9:1.

Dropping a BBC into a third gen isn't that hard but a Mark IV engine would be a much better choice. Sell the Gen V to someone who could use it and buy an older engine.

Well I have a set of closed chamber heads already that I was going to use in a previous 402 project but that never got off the ground so I was going to use the closed chambered head for this one. It came with a 4L80E trans but Im not gonna use that in this car

Mark IV heads are not a direct bolt on to a Gen V block. A proper head gasket is required to seal a coolant passage because of casting mismatch between Mark IV and Gen V blocks.
