CaminoLS6 03-19-2008, 02:52 PM If only they would give me that vehicle with a manual, i would have one in my garage tomorrow. I'm waiting for that as well. I'd also like the GXP package, but the manual is a dealbreaker for me. 99SilverSS 03-19-2008, 02:58 PM I'm waiting for that as well. I'd also like the GXP package, but the manual is a dealbreaker for me. Rumor is you won't have to wait long for either. CaminoLS6 03-19-2008, 02:59 PM Rumor is you won't have to wait long for either. I've heard that. But damn! I need confirmation.:D graham 03-19-2008, 03:14 PM I wonder if some of the rear end parts will be good parts to help G8 and Camaro rears last longer? slt 03-19-2008, 04:21 PM This one is beyond me. I just dont get it, especially as a pontiac. HAZ-Matt 03-19-2008, 11:52 PM This one is beyond me. I just dont get it, especially as a pontiac. This is the sort of vehicle you would find within a brand that specializes in performance cars. Pontiac is exactly where this ute should be if they really want to bring the identity of the brand up to where it is supposed to be. YARDofSTUF 03-20-2008, 02:54 AM The new el camino, almost as good as a car, almost as good as a truck, embrace mediocrity! AnthonyHSV 03-20-2008, 11:51 AM The new el camino, almost as good as a car, almost as good as a truck, embrace mediocrity! Funny never saw the point of the F-150's and the like. For their size they haul **** all. Just big useless gas guzzlers that don't carry much more than the ute. At least with the Ute, you're getting car like dynamics and not driving a truck. stereomandan 03-20-2008, 01:15 PM Still don't like it, at all. There is a reason why it is the only one of it's kind. Dan cmg06s 03-20-2008, 04:32 PM When I saw the Holden version I thought it was pretty ugly, but that black pontiac version, with the hood scoops and chrome pipes....... looks pretty sweet... Yeah but with a truck or a real SUV you get better ground clearance, 4 wheel drive, and according to the write up, better towing ability. What is this the new line of Pontiac, The G8 sedan, G8 sport truck, G8 ice cream van, maybe a G8 bus, or trolly too. I'm amazed there are people that like this vehicle. jg95z28 03-20-2008, 06:45 PM Nice seats! :D JakeRobb 03-21-2008, 09:23 AM Funny never saw the point of the F-150's and the like. For their size they haul **** all. Just big useless gas guzzlers that don't carry much more than the ute. The G8 can haul almost 1,100 lbs and tow 3,500 lbs Depending on the exact truck you buy, an F-150 can tow as much as 8200 lbs and haul 3000 lbs in the bed. That's more than twice what the Ute can handle. If you need more, there's always the F-250 and F-350. toneloc12345 03-21-2008, 11:47 AM The payload and towing ability is pretty impressive for a car based truck.... Isn't that more than the SRT Grand Cherokee!?! FS3800 03-21-2008, 12:05 PM The new el camino, almost as good as a car, almost as good as a truck, embrace mediocrity! wrong, it's just as good as a car, better at being a car than some cars.. and its as good as a truck as most people use their trucks for.. and better as a truck, considering it's fuel economy Yeah but with a truck or a real SUV you get better ground clearance, 4 wheel drive, and according to the write up, better towing ability. . all those are things that the great majority (i'm not going to pretend to know a number) of people who buy trucks or SUVs never use... most people that buy them never go offroad so they don't need the extra ground clearance or 4wd.. and most dont tow 10000lbs or wahtever a full size pickup can tow.. .. 3500 is enough to tow a car for petes sake.. maybe not with a trailer too .. but its more than enough for the majority of people who use trucks i would think YARDofSTUF 03-21-2008, 07:14 PM wrong, it's just as good as a car, better at being a car than some cars.. and its as good as a truck as most people use their trucks for.. and better as a truck, considering it's fuel economy all those are things that the great majority (i'm not going to pretend to know a number) of people who buy trucks or SUVs never use... most people that buy them never go offroad so they don't need the extra ground clearance or 4wd.. and most dont tow 10000lbs or wahtever a full size pickup can tow.. .. 3500 is enough to tow a car for petes sake.. maybe not with a trailer too .. but its more than enough for the majority of people who use trucks i would think Better at being a car than most cars? Not if you need to have more than 1 other person in it. Ground clearance and 4 wheel drive are handy when it snows as well. CaminoLS6 03-21-2008, 08:33 PM Better at being a car than most cars? Not if you need to have more than 1 other person in it. Ground clearance and 4 wheel drive are handy when it snows as well. I don't want more than one other person in my car. I already have a 2500HD Silverado, this will be for hauling ass. Infinitely more interesting than some boring sedan, I'll leave that to all the lemmings. Beautiful, RWD, V8 powered, what's not to love? AnthonyHSV 03-22-2008, 04:21 AM Yeah but with a truck or a real SUV you get better ground clearance, 4 wheel drive, and according to the write up, better towing ability. That whole soccer mum "I'm safe in a big truck with heaps of ground clearance" bores me to tears. I'd prefer to be able to park and drive it like a car, not driving a truck that pretty much handles like a truck. As for the stats on its towing/hauling ability of the big pickup trucks I did say "for there size". Anyway different strokes.... | ||
