I am looking to sell my 1995 Z28 in Chicago....
Hardtop
Bright red exterior, gray cloth interior
123,000 miles
Always garage kept
Mods:
-OEM gray painted Y2K Vette thin-spokes with Kumho ecstas
-PCMforLess programming
-Moroso cold air intake
-160 degree thermostat
-1LE intake elbow
-Aftermarket catback (not sure what kind)
-Powerslot rotors (new)
-Hawk Pads (new)
-Earls stainless steel brake lines (new)
-B&M ripper shifter
-BMR lowering springs
Maintenance completed:
-Passenger window trim (replaced because the one retainer broke off and the window would rattle inside the door)
-Passenger window motor (old motor went bad... replaced about 3 months ago)
-Intake manifold leak (JUST fixed this... it started to drip oil, so I replaced the gasket. Very common problem on LT1s- it should be good for another 50k miles)
-Front bumper cover (the paint was cracking, and it was just cheaper to get a whole new one than to sand the old one down and repaint it)
-Oil changed every 2000 miles with Mobil 1 synthetic
-Changed trans fluid with Mobil 1 2k miles ago
-Replaced the rubber bushings in the wiper assembly (the wipers started clanging when on)
Details:
-The car is mechanically sound... it runs like it has about 50,000 miles, and it runs pretty strong for the minimal mods.
-3 owner car, clean carfax. It has been a super reliable car as long as I have owned it.
-The exterior is in decent shape, and cleans up very nicely. There are a few dents and chips from normal driving
-The interior is nearly perfect.
Small issues:
-The tires on the car will need to be replaced soon, but if we work out something I can include the stock salad shooters with nearly new BFGoodrich KDWS tires.
-The front bumper cover I just installed turned out to be a cheap China product, and there is a small "ridge" in the plastic near where the bumper meets the hood. This is not very noticeable unless you are close to the car and are anal like I am (see pics). The back bumper had been bumped prior to me buying the car, and has a few scuffs and spider webbing.
-There is a slight vibration in the lower rpm range when you are on the throttle... I am pretty sure that it is just an exhaust vibration. It was there when I bought the car, and it has not gotten any worse. I bought a full exhaust (headers, ypipe, and catback) that I was going to eventually put on which should remedy the problem, but I never got around to it. It honestly doesnt bother me... as long as you don't let the rpms get below 1400, there is no vibration.
-The steering wheel is off about 3 degrees. The physical alignment of the tires is perfect, but the steering wheel is just barely off center. The shop who last aligned the car didn't center the wheel, but did a good job with the alignment otherwise so I didn't complain.
Summary:
This is basically a no surprise car. The issues I listed above are the only current known issues. I have done a good bit of work in the past few months to get the car ready to sell so that there would be no surprises to the next owner. I have gotten burned in the past when I have bought cars/parts from other people only to find out that they weren't telling the whole story. So I am not going to be like that to anyone else.
I am asking $4800 for the car. Contact me via pm or email at pimpinuofi@hotmail.com if you are interested. I would be happy to take people for test drives or show the car.
Here are a few pics (they will show how clean the car is):
