i'll post some better ones laster but i took these in the garage real quick...
keep in mind the car hasn't been washed yet so there is still some polishing compund here and there...

in this one im pretty sure they installed the bellow upside down because they said they had to extend the opti vent tube and i installed everything a few weeks ago (have a pic of it on my camera phone but can't upload it) that has the vent tube on the drivers side and not needing extended... oh well i can always flip it later

the fitment of the hood was dead on... definately was the oem mold and not some aftermarket copy...
and finally, a pic of the roof... no more white specles

for the record the car has not been washed and yes there is some compound here and there...
here are some better pics of the car outside.... still havent taken it to be washed, i'll probably do that tomorrow if the weather warms up...

the spot next to the bird on the bumper is just a smudge of dirt or something, i already noticed it after i looked at the pics and cleaned it up

this one here is my favorite angle...

the hood was $307.50 off ebay plus a 400 mi round trip drive to get it (but i have an aunt and uncle who love about 50 miles from where the hood was and we made a weekend out of it so i dont really count the gas that much)
the airbox and all the stuff to make it functional including the hood vents was around $200
and the cost for the paint and labor for the hood and roof was $738. so all in all about $1200...
i didnt have the fenders repainted because they werent that bad (there are a few chips here and there) and the front bumper was replaced last summer by the same body shop after the hay bail incident... which i think i posted here, but if not here's a couple pics of what a square hay bail will do to a bumper @ 45mph

the hood is an oem "reject" that was never installed... the hole that caused it to be rejected cannot be seen as the shop did a good job repairing it, nor can the slight tolerance difference between the left and right side (which is where the hole was) because its covered up on the underside of the hood by the plates that the hood struts bolt to...
i think i did pretty good considering that the hood itself would have been over $1400 from GM, and the grills should have been $200 from GM (what a ripoff) but i found them on hawks 3rd gen parts for $50 shipped...
now the only other thing i need, which i ordered the other night from SLP is the blockoff plate for the hole down by the fender where the old air silencer was (the blockoff plate was standard issue on SS/WS6 models)
FWIW here's the hood in its unpainted form, the hole i'm referring to is on the drivers side.. its a little black dot in the pic, and was about half the size of a dime...

eh everyone has chrome rims.... ive had the black ZR1's for 3 years now and i still get a lot of compliments and "i dont see a lot of black/black LT1's like that" so i think they're gonna stick around for a while... if they were all black w/o the lip it might be a bit much but with the polished lip and chrome lugnuts i think they fit perfectly
