Ok i just gotta ask .....geeznu 03-06-2008, 11:44 PM whats up with the 3 sets of headlights in the front ??? I know everyone says that its a glue on tape on whatever, how come we keep seeing them ??? Im sure im not the only one that thought of it 90rocz 03-07-2008, 01:37 AM Yeah, everyone knows they're temps, but why that config, why 3? not one? or 2? or 4? It's like they're toying with ideas... Tricked-Out-Toy 03-07-2008, 08:43 AM I think im going to shoot myself....... This horse has been beat, burned, thrown of a cliff, and ran over by a convoy of tanks.... Please please please do some reading. they arent experimenting with anything...... Big Als Z 03-07-2008, 09:51 AM They just put random lights together into a pod so that they can drive it on the street. Its not testing anything, this isnt Area 51, its a friggin Camaro. Its just there to act as a placeholder...nothing more. Ahhhh ef it...yeah, they are testing out revolving headlights. Like the old TV Camera's that had multiple lenses that can be rotated, the Camaro will have that. You can focus light on an area, or open it up really wide!! Its brand new technology!!! Its brand new technology!!! yup itll have x-ray vision and infared to!!!! JakeRobb 03-07-2008, 10:22 AM They literally go down to AutoZone and buy whatever they can glue in there. It is ONLY so that they can drive the cars at night. :) Nothing more, nothing less. We have this direct from Scott. missmy79 03-07-2008, 10:41 AM whattya mean it isn't area 51 ... I saw a yellow one turn into a friggin robot and kick some mustang tale. Your expectations are too low for this car :D Big Als Z 03-07-2008, 11:11 AM Actually, I heard that it will have stickers instead of standard headlights so it can be ready for NASCAR SSmoknLT1 03-07-2008, 12:00 PM high beam, low beam, and turn signal. how hard is that to figure out??? DUH diarmadhi 03-07-2008, 12:31 PM high beam, low beam, and turn signal. how hard is that to figure out??? DUH Wow, Some inteligent thoughts in an otherwise worthless thread... Give it up on the headlights... I'm just bracing myself for the threads starting "GM changed the headlights becuase of the lash back from enthusiasts" instead of the real story that they where never a consideration to begin with... Dragoneye 03-07-2008, 04:19 PM :bang:And if you look closely to any Malibu test mules pics...these look awfully similar. They are stock pieces that just get trimmed to fit into whatever car they're testing. Please God, let this topic die..........:dead: 90rocz 03-08-2008, 01:26 AM WHY DIDN'T THEY GLUE IN ONLY ONE LIGHT PER SIDE??? OK, TWO?... :D I think I might've figured out, looking at the Enclave.. Time will tell........ ImportedRoomate 03-08-2008, 02:28 PM high beam, low beam, and turn signal. how hard is that to figure out??? DUH :bang: 99SilverSS 03-11-2008, 12:49 AM 3 light's = 1 low beam (same as foglight on these cars) 1 high beam and 1 turn signal. Why use them on the pre-pro cars? Maybe the production lights are not completed. There could be more than one supplier to wait on or GM made some changes that have taken longer to get completed. OR the lights are done and GM doesn't need to test them on the mules when it can do so behind closed doors at Milford or other GM locations. Leave something new for the production car. Brian Demeter 05-24-2008, 06:33 PM Why are the REAL headlights taking soooo long to show up on a test mule? Don't they have to test them too? Why the delay? You would think at least ONE car would have a set of the real production headlights for testing. I personally can't stand the 4 headlights on the mules. The whole character of the car depends on those two large headlights. I can live without the halo's, at least maybe have an option for them, but switch to 4 headlights? That would be the dumbest move I've seen yet. Dragoneye 05-24-2008, 09:21 PM Wheres the pentagram and candles it took to resurrect this thread? Why are the REAL headlights taking soooo long to show up on a test mule? Supposedly they're in a lab somewhere where a lifetime of use and conditions can be accelerated and reviewed. That's why they're not on the car, it wouldn't be a fair test to drive them around for a few months and then validate them for a 100,000 mile warranty. So, keeping that in mind; since the mules have already been built, and beat to hell - why would you swap out the lights when the temps are doing their job so well? For spy-photographer's pleasure? Please - Bob Lutz already gave them the "no more camo" precedent.:D And now that they've become such a big deal, what with the Halos on the Concept and now the secrecy we've attributed to them...I don't doubt they're trying to guarantee they've got a few surprises for us come final unveil time. I mean I doubt when I see the headlights I am going to be impressed or something. As long as they are HID's who cares? I put my money on pop-ups though. ImportedRoomate 05-25-2008, 11:49 AM They used those because they were the easiest to incorporate low and high beams, and turn signals. Find me a single headlamp, with all of those functions, that can fit in that space, and would be cheaper to obtain than that simple setup. The lights don't need to be on the car to complete all testing. Suppliers have lamp testing vehicles with structures on the front which can be modified to accept and test any headlamps. The headlamps are probably done by now. However there's probably no reason to refit these mules with them. vonmoldy 05-25-2008, 05:41 PM they don't need chrome wheels either and paint who needs it maybe they should have just used a bare metal mustang body and gm mechanicals to make sure everything works. It is like they want to hype the headlights! Lutz wants the camo off so it is pretty much open to the public what the car will look like so why not throw on the actual headlights? 8Banger 05-26-2008, 11:21 AM It's like they're toying with ideas... Toying with ideas in a car under development, those bastages. ;) JakeRobb 05-26-2008, 06:39 PM so why not throw on the actual headlights? Because they're not ready yet. :) Toukijin 05-28-2008, 04:17 PM Are people really this dumb?!?! ImportedRoomate 05-28-2008, 04:44 PM Because they're not ready yet. :) Actually they probably are - the disciples can attest to that.;) | ||
