hey guys I was gonna tighten up the valvetrain on my 93 3.4 and was wondering what you all suggest I do, I have a little knocking from the rockers, the car has 148,000 miles on it so I'm sure that it needs to be readjusted. If anyone's done this before send a few pointers my way. Thanks guys....

Buy some rocker clips and tighten them with the engine running.
Thats the way I like to do them.

Its a pain in the ass...
you need to remove the upper intake plenum fuel rail and injectors...
then the valve covers but its a little bit of a bitch because the AIR pump lines snag on I think the driver side valve cover making it difficult ot get the valve cover off.
it also helps to remove the alternator.
I would buy like 3 cans of engine degreaser, and a old toothbrush and soem rags... While you have all your stuff apart... its a good idea to clean it like the top of the lower intake maniflold and the insed of the upper intake plenum and the throttle body.
i would also take the igniotn coils off and clean up all the points with some sandpaper.
As for adjsuting the rockers.. i don't remember the exact procedure... but I do know it involves, putting the motor at top dead center... tightening certain rockers... then crank it a certain amount, and tightening certain rockers...
It list the procedure in a haynes or Chiltons manual... may want ot pick one up or at least read the right order.
I reccomend jsut loosening all the rockers then doing the tightent down process...
I did this about 8,000 miles ago and haven't had a tick since... I had some serious ticking.... And either fixing that or doing a serious cleaning of the throttle body and upper intake gave me back a few horses.
If you absoultely need me to type up the procedure I can.... jsut not tonight I am at my girlfreind's place, its 3 AM I jsut got home form work and I have to be back at work at 7am. So may be a couple days before i get it up if you want it.
