Cobalt SS Turbo?

I had read that the Cobalt SS Turbo with the LNF motor would be coming out sometime around Q2 of this year, but as of yet, Chevrolet doesn't even have it listed on their upcoming vehicle page.

Anyone have an update on the Cobalt SS?

I did notice that the HHR SS moved from upcoming vehicles to the HHR page... Starting price for the HHR SS right at $23k... I'd guess that the Cobalt SS should be a grand or so less... That could be a really fun car for the price...

I actually like the Cobalt SS. In many ways it reminds me of a modern version of the Monza Spyder. Quick, tossable, and compared with other cars on the street, pretty dang quick.

If the turbo puts out the Solstice GXP's 265 horses, it should be more than entertaining.

In concept the Cobalt SS Turbo sounds really cool... As Guy stated, light, tossable and quick for a street car. Should be livable for a daily driver as well. I would think that the in the cobalt body, the LNF should deliver ~32 MPG HWY... I wonder when they'll announce pricing and options. I want to test drive one of these...

The SAE HP document for the LNF in the Cobalt listed 261 hp and 262 lb/ft . GM's claimed 1/4 time is 14.1@102 which means it should be faster They have some interesting options in 2009 , ones I would wait for ....finally the Cobalt will get bluetooth , and pretty cool programmable performance display that lets u choose between several parameters like Wideband air fuel ratio( the LNF uses a wideband 02 sensor ) , fuel pressure , oil pressure , oil temperature , boost pressure , water temp , intake air temp and several others . U can choose 4 at a time . Other readings are outside temp , the air psi in all 4 tires , barometric pressue . Pretty cool and very useful info .

I think mine is the perfect daily driver , its like driving a go-kart and mine nearly runs 12's and still averages 27+ mpg

I'm looking forward to GM Performance parts offering a 2.0L turbo Ecotec RPO replacement motor.

I kind of wish that Pontica would make a GXP version of the G5 with a turbo that made the same power as the Cobalt SS. I think the G5 looks better. Either way, the Cobalt SS will be a fun car to drive for sure. Hopefull the torque steer is not too bad.

Update your sig man, that's a bit of work you should be proud to display.

Note: Typical picture, accessories not included. Supercharger NOT included.

+ a turbo kit and you're set.

Anybody know what a complete 2.0L Supercharged Ecotec goes for?

I haven't heard if there is officially for Cobalt yet or not, but HHR has one. I would expect at the very least the Cobalt SS Sedan will offer one. HHR SS with an auto loses 25 horses. I'd guess Cobalt will be the same.
