Shift Problems Help???

I own a 95 Z28 Lt1 with Automatic trans. Heres the problem. My shifter when put into park stays in reverse. Actually here is how the shift lays out
P = Reverse (no back up lights and car can be shut off and restarted in gear)
R = Reverse with backup lights car will not shut off and restart.
N = Neutral when shifting out of Reverse Stays in Drive when shifting out of drive.
OD = Drive with overdrive but shift mechanism doesnt prevent shifting into neutral. Shifter isnt locking in OD it can be moved to neautral position and stays in OD
D = 3 rd gear (will dowshift to 3rd but doesnt lock.)
2 = 2nd gear ( will shift into 2nd gear but doesnt lock)
Is this a shift cable problem or something else. Any help will be appriciated.

Check the shift cable at the transmission (especially, to see if the bracket has come loose). Or it may need adjustment (http://shbox.com/trans/A4_trans_linkage.html).

Loose bolt on the cable bracket!!! Works fine now except for that intermittent work/not work of the Park Shift selenoid. Any ideas on this Shoebox?
