Where do I start? Whats damage and what parts should I be looking for?

ouch.... with that much damage i would really reccomend getting it checked for straighness cause if the axle bores are not aligned its not going to be good.

you have to ask yourself how much money you want to spend and where your going with the car. i see three options

1) a good built rear (s60 9in 8.8in 8.5")
2) an entire stock for stock rear swap
3) sinking too much money in fixing this rear to have the same thing happen later on

bare min to fix this one ure gonna need to....
check for bent axles or houseing replace if necessary
new gear set
new lsd
new install kit(bearings etc)

my opinion would be go with option 1 or 2 depending on where your going with the car.

Thank you. I can't even move it, it makes a grinding sound when I put it into 1st gear.

Looks like the pinion came to far back or dislodged, chewing into the edge right there... What gear set do you have? Stock aftermarket? Fresh install?
