I just have a quick question on putting your name in for a camaro,
1. would it be good to put my name in now or just order one when i can?
2. do i have to put any $$ down and does anyone know the minimum
3. anyone in phoenix know a good dealer that isnt doin mark ups :P

i think you should put your name on one now because the dealers are gonna give GM the orders who have deposits on them 1st then the people who dont
i put a deposit down for $500 that seems to be the minimum some dealers would have a $1000 deposit it would be very hard to find a dealer with a $0 deposit
most dealers are gonna have all camaro's marked up your best bet is to go to a dealer that youve been with for many years

Some are doing it. I will not.
If you feel compelled to leave a deposit, make sure you have a written and signed agreement that is to your satisfaction before you hand over your money.
If you "have to be" one of the first owners, good luck. Listen to the last podcast. Jason mentions why not, even if youre "1st" on the dealers list.
most importantly, DO NOT PAY OVER MSRP!!!!

I'm not. I have a feeling when I show up with ~$25k cash for my down payment, my dealer is going to say, "list? What list?" :D

^ good luck doing thatSeriously? My dealer hasn't begun taking down names or deposits. Why? Because trim levels and pricing hasn't been established. That may all change in a few months, but then I'm waiting for year two and the top dog Camaro anyway. :D

Putting a deposit down now will only solidify mark-ups for dealers.
Dealer: "Well, now, GM will only allow me 8 Camaro's per month, and I have orders for 20, so I have a low supply and high demand, I HAVE to charge mark-ups."
~That's just the way I see it. I have no idea. I just know mark-ups are inevitable :(

thats exactly how it works most times. and for the first few months im sure they will have zero option specifically as to what cars GM sends them.
