High 17's? Maybe a few poorly tuned 3.4's are running high 17's but most of them I see are running mid-high 16's.

This should help... http://engine.firebirdv6.com/

Oh yeah typical stock acceleration times are 0-60 in 9ish and 1/4 in the high 16s.

the dohc 3.4L is very unreliable, likes to eat alternators, break timing chains, and a huge long list.... Very expensive to maintain.

THe 3.4L has cast aluminum pistons.... which is a downfall when it comes to severely tuning it.

3.4L are typically high 16s..

and hey my 3.4L is mid 15s:)

And some very well maintained ones that run 17.8.

.......and I have seen others do the same at the same track.

the dohc 3.4 Certainly does go along with the general scheme of grand am engines being unreliable.

Unreliable? Not really if well maintained....and there timing belt engines. ALL dohc 3.4's are forged aluminum rods/pistons.
