Has anyone put 04-06 GTO seats in a 4th gen Camaro? I need new seats badly in my car, and I love the seats in the wifes GTO. Does any one have pics and or how they installed them?

GTO Seats in a 4th Gen Camaro?94_PatriotRed_Z 01-21-2008, 10:16 PM Has anyone put 04-06 GTO seats in a 4th gen Camaro? I need new seats badly in my car, and I love the seats in the wifes GTO. Does any one have pics and or how they installed them? red01z28 01-22-2008, 12:14 PM from my understanding they are too wide, but i have seen corvette seats. they look good in the car. Blown350ZZ4 01-22-2008, 01:54 PM Man, those GTO seats sure are comfy. Greed4Speed 01-22-2008, 04:27 PM Don't know about being too wide, but I wouldn't because they have "GTO" embroidered in the back. I'll just get mine redone when the time comes. JakeRobb 01-22-2008, 04:40 PM Just get an aftermarket Recaro seat. I'm pretty sure there's at least one Recaro that will fit an F-body. They made the GTO seats anyway. :) 94_PatriotRed_Z 01-22-2008, 09:54 PM from my understanding they are too wide, but i have seen corvette seats. they look good in the car. I was afraid they were to wide. Do you have any more info on Corvette seats, like what years fit? Pics? or directions to make them fit? Man, those GTO seats sure are comfy. Yea, I like driving her car any long distance now. Don't know about being too wide, but I wouldn't because they have "GTO" embroidered in the back. I'll just get mine redone when the time comes. I didnt want the GTO in the seatback but I was gonna live with it for good seats. My seats are past the point of getting redone, its not just the clothe but also all the foam inside. I can feel every support in my driver seats Greed4Speed 01-23-2008, 08:37 AM A good automotive appolstry stop can rebuild them. I had a 64 VW that I had the seats redone. It wasn't that expensive either. ZZtop 02-11-2008, 03:58 PM GTO seats will fit in a 4th Gen. I repeat, WILL fit in a 4th Gen. I don't know why everyone says they are too wide, they are nearly identical in cushion width. Yes, the rails are wider and you will have to trim the bracket on the rear rail (closest to door sill) to get the seat to sit down properly. The mounting locations are far different and will require the fabrication of an adapter bracket. Additionally, with the GTO seat in it's lowest position, the bottom of the seat cushion only sits about an 1" higher than that of the manual cloth Camaro seat. From my understanding, this would make it about the same height as a power Trans Am seat. With some bracket trimming and maybe a little selective floor board hammering the seats will be ergonomically great. Not to mention they literally look like they belong in there and the leather matches my interior about perfect. Yes, I understand this is a useless post with out pics. I will post some tonight! I just trial fit the seat from my brothers 2004 GTO yesterday. When the wife gives me the money I will be putting them in my Camaro, so you can all see! That is GREAT information. Now I just need to find a set of GTO seats in a junkyard 2000GTP 02-13-2008, 06:36 PM Enjoy! http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2281318/2 How about the back seats, can the GTO seats be made to fit as well? ZZtop 02-13-2008, 08:30 PM How about the back seats, can the GTO seats be made to fit as well? I don't know if they will fit, I did not try. However, I can say that they would be absolutely useless if they did fit. Even more so than the stock seats. The reason is that because of the GTO seats size and design they have to be mounted further back than the stock Camaro seats, which leaves no leg room for the back seats. Essentially, the GTO seats are great if you plan on removing the rear seats and fabricating a pan in their place (my plan) because it will look like it was built that way and less like there is a huge void back there. 2000GTP 02-13-2008, 09:07 PM I don't know if they will fit, I did not try. Yeah, I was curious how that would work. It would look awkward having the two GTO seats in the front and the cloth in the back, unless you had it re-upholstered to kind of match the GTO seats. I like the pan idea better though. Gregorya24 04-10-2009, 09:44 PM i just got my gto seats in the other day for my 99 camaro, do yall know the bracket you had to cut was on the seat? cause when i removed the passenger seat it was only 4 bolts sticking out of the floor board, and how hard do you think it will be to wire the passenger side seat up for power? WarrenH 07-21-2009, 11:24 AM Has any body installed 2004 gto seats in a 1966 gto (a body i think) warrenh 1966 gto clone 1984 t/a livewire516 07-31-2009, 09:01 PM I've seen it done on a 66/67. Someone in the hatboro, pa area. shock6906 07-31-2009, 09:43 PM Has any body installed 2004 gto seats in a 1966 gto (a body i think) warrenh 1966 gto clone 1984 t/a I can't imagine why that wouldn't work. Those are big cars, so there shouldn't be any issues with the interior not being large enough to accomodate them. You will, of course, have to do some fabrication when it comes to mounting them, but that's almost a given when doing custom seat swaps. | ||
