I got my Borla a few days ago, I was going to have my one friend help me but he doesent seem to have time till march.
If it gets above 50 do you think that if I put the back of the car up on ramps I could do this myself? I just dont want to get 1/2 done and realize I cant do this with only two hands. Can it be done?

Another thing is it didnt come with directions other then a discription picture. I know what everything is and how it goes together but is there a easier way of doing it? I was figureing I would start by installing the muffiler and tips and work my way back to the cat would this be the easiest way?

I cant wate till march! I cant wate to here this thing;)

You can get the old crap out by yourself

When you install it......you work backwards....not forward.

You'll need a 2nd person to tell you if the muffer/tips are in straight.

I did the B&B by myself....but I did it at work on a lift with some muffler stands.

I dont need a welder because it all clamps together and I am not that big so I think I can make due with ramps.

oh yes i see now.

wouldnt any exhaust be better off welded?
and i agree you will need at least 2 people, muffler and pipe can be cumbersome.

IMO the hardest part will be getting the old system off. I dunno how different your exhaust is but on LT1/LS1's its nearly impossible to get the I-pipe out in one piece with the car on jackstands. On a lift its doable since you have more room to pivot stuff...

I've gotten around it by disassembleing the suspension on the pass side and dropping the axle a little but thats alot of work. If all else fails just cut it apart. I think Autozone lends a pipe cutter which should work. Forget about going back to stock after that without a welder tho :)

Good Luck

Santa is bringing me a nice new jack and jack stands:D now, I want to lift it so that I can make the rear axle hang and give myself some more room, most of the times I have lifted it I either used the axle or the trailing arms. Is there a better place to lift so that I can suspend the rear? I dont want to put a jack stand throught the floor;)

In response to the welding, I am going to clamp it together first and once I make sure everything is set where I want it (nothing rubs or rattles) I am going to look into geting my mechanic to weld it next time it needs something.

 Thanks
