Final destination, I think is still undecided, the pre-prod probably has a fuel cell in the trunk. I don't think top of the drivers' rear fender is going to make...but I could be wrong.

So far we've seen the front, driver side and rear of the pre-pro Camaro and no gas cap to be found. I'm not a gambling man outside of Vegas but I'd put money the gas cap is on the passenger side.

My bet too unfortunately. Pass side rear 1/4 panel. Was hoping for drivers side 1/4 panel

'09 Pontiac G8: Passenger side.

'09 CTS sedan: Passenger side.

2010? CTS coupe concept: Passenger side:

2010 Camaro...... Passenger side :D

*That's my guess...

why the switch to passenger side?

i like drivers side better, easier to line up with the fuel pump and you don't have to walk around the car to get to it

Frankly, I don't care which side its on. I've had enough cars that I've had it from anywhere like behind the license plate, to the driver side and the passenger side. As long as I can put gas into it.

Next time you're at the gas station, take notice that the "passenger's side" pumps are far far less popular. You never have to wait for one to open up! Passenger's side gas FTW.

so we would be faster putting gas than the other cars.. wow the camaro team is really thinking about all the details! lol

so drive around to the other side... Plus, both sides of the pumps are used because, depending on which way you coming and going, you will pull into that pump. So we use both sides, just depends on our direction of travel.

There is one advantage to the passenger side fill location. You don't run the risk of dinging your door on the fuel pumps or the concrete islands that surround them.

That's what I always thought until I was in Greensboro, NC last month and a gas station I stopped at (wal-mart owned?) had directional arrows, it was one way only for all pumps (same direction) so it was funny to see all the DS pumps with people waiting and the PS pumps with only a car or two. I thought it was a stupid design.

This is very true of camaro's big doors. I can't remeber how many times I hit the door on the concrete islands and I would get mad. I am perfectly fine with it on the passenger side. My chevy tracker is that and i have no issues.

OK I get the dont ding your door arguement. How is walking around to the other side of the car faster than jumping out and pumping it when its right there?

I'm not sure all gas pumps could reach that easily.

Like that would pass the crash test! That is why they moved it along with the gas tank more to the center of the car.

The 1965 Triumph TR4a my dad and I rebuilt has it just foward of the trunk on a panel in between the rear window frame and the edge of the trunk (what would they call that--the rear cowl?). Great location because you can fill from either side, it's safe-ish...only downside is if you drip, it drips onto the paint.

I'm a right-hand gas man. I always hated that about the 4th gen...pull up to the pump, and then you have to be a contortionist to get out without dinging the door on the island. bleh.

Yeah, I remember, I used to use the (metal) gas cap to prop the license plate down out of the way...:D

My '67 Firebird was in the rear above the bumper...but crash standards have pretty much killed the chances of that.

And actually you had to pull past a pump to refuel, which can take up a lot of room at the gas station.

I like the quarter panel fill location better, tho I'd prefer drivers' side, I understand needing to meet global requirements...but isn't the UK & Japan pretty much the only "right hand" drivers???

My Buick & I think my 71 Camaro are both in the back.

I know my buick is for sure because it pisses the oregon guys off when they have to gas the car up So they have us to it lol
