The 4th Annual Michigan FBody Meet & Greet 2008

What: 2008 Michigan FBody Spring Meet 'n' Greet
Date: May 31st, 2008
Location: Kensington Metropark, Milford, MI
Park Location: Maple Beach

Introduction:
That's right! With the beginning of 2008 starts the official informational thread. The date has been set by you, the members. The only thing I'm setting up is the location, which will be at Maple Beach at Kensington Metro Park. The reason for this is due to the size of the parking lot needed. Last year, with about 130 fbodies showing up, we had an awesome lot that was just the right size. This year, we're pushing for 150 Fbodies. Can we make it? Will we be able to do it? Let's see!

Food and Beverages:
Crank's Catering will have a concession stand set up at the beach building across the parking lot. Here is a list of prices for the food and beverages:
Jumbo hotdog 2.75
Chili dog 3.00
1/3lb burger 4.00
Cheeseburger 4.25
Chicken sand 4.00
Chicken tend 4.25

Nacho Grande 5.75
Pizza slice 1.75
Pizza whole 13.00
Corndog 2.75
Onion rings 3.00
French fries 2.50
Chili cheese fries 3.00
Soft pretzel 2.25

Combo
Chips and 20oz pop +2.00
Hot combo
Fries and 20oz +2.50

Chips 1.50
Candy 1.50
Ice cream (dots) 3.50
Ice cream bars 2.25

Fountain pop 12oz 1.00
20oz 1.35
32oz 2.25

20oz water 1.50
Gatorade 2.25
Coffee 1.50
Registration:
As most of you might remember from last year, filling out the registration forms overwhelmed me to say the least. I was constantly registering in people as they entered the picnic area. This year, there's two forms that people can fill out to make my job GREATLY easier to do! Please visit this link and fill out the form in it's entirety to make my job easier when the Meet 'n Greet comes.

General Plans for the Meet 'n' Greet:
The Meet 'n Greet, as a tradition, is a casual meetup to hang out and have fun! The site is still growing at an exponential rate, and there's still a lot of names that we know from the site but we don't have a face to place with the name. The Meet 'n Greet was created to put faces to the usernames on the site. The whole point is to meet new people, hang out, show off our own cars and check out eachother's cars.

Please note that the cruise to Woodward is completely independent of the Meet & Greet this year. The meet will be considered finished directly after the short Awards ceremony.

Click here to see the Michigan FBody RSVP Thread - The first post of this thread is an up-to-date RSVP list for registered MiFbody.com members. While obviously we're inviting ANYONE with an FBody, it's at least a good estimate of how many people are planning to be there.

Definitely, the more fbodies the merrier! It's a very laid back environment, I'm not going to turn away anyone that wants to come and hang out. We even had a G6 last year. Last year was a blessing, though. Scott and crew from GM were VERY VERY kind, they stopped by with the silver Camaro concept and the convertible Camaro concept -- but I think that's a once in a lifetime alignment of the planets.

Here's a photo gallery from 2006 and last year's.

That would truly be awesome! Most of our "long range" drivers are from the Grand Rapids area, about a 2 hour drive.

It would be a 3-4 Hr.drive(based upon driving to August 07s Woodward Dream Cruise) for us to come from the eastern suburbs of Cleveland.I mapquested the park and Maple Beach and it would be comparable to the drive to Woodward.

This is a great show and everyone should come on out if you can. It gets bigger and bigger every year. Should get 150+ fbodies easily this year.

Hey we have all types of FBodies in all different types of conditions that come out -- even if your car barely runs, we'll still appreciate it!

That's cool too -- I don't think we have had one trailered to the event, yet, but I don't see why not.

I've created a thread which I will update regularly with a list of people who have registered for the event. So far, as of 10:30pm, we have 40 people registered and we're still under 10 inches of snow

I've gone to this event every year so far. It's always a lot of fun to check out all the different cars. I'll definitely be there again this year.
