When installing a fuel injected motor in a first gen (TPI/LT1/LS1), what do you guys use for throttle linkage? What do you do about fuel lines and pump?

As for fuel lines and pump, any FI engine worth spit needs more than 20-30 (even 58 like the LS1) PSI, which means a mechanical pump and regular rubber hose and clamps is out of the question. The easy way to go is to use an inline electic fuel pump and some6 AN steel braided hose, or hose with an equivalent strength. Hope this helped -Gordon:metal: racr4jc 12-12-2002, 04:26 AM Late model truck pedal? Does it fit up on the firewall just like the stock pedal? Are there any aftermarket replacements that might work better? 68SuperRam 12-12-2002, 09:04 AM You make want to check out Lokar products - nice products - but a little expensive. I know that they sell throttle cables and brackets for TPI / LTI etc. FYI - just make sure to remember the transmission kickdown cable - if you order any brackets. They also just came out with a pedal assembly for a 67-69 Camaro for fuel injection systems. I used my original pedal assembly, but just modified the throttle arm - and the cable I used was from a 86 Camaro. I also know that on V6 Camaros (first generation) - the pedal assembly is a cable driven assembly, but the stock V8 pedal worked great - just had to spend a little time on the workbench with the vice. In regards to the pump and lines - I agree -6AN braided line with a high flow in line pump, and for the return line either a -6AN line or a steel line (not aluminum) - I purchased a stainless steel line from Summit. FYI - for the tank- make sure to have a return line for the tank, along with some way for the tank to get vented!! Hope this helps. yzguy 12-13-2002, 12:01 PM why not aluminum? | ||
