JasonD 12-25-2007, 08:44 AM NOTE: Version 1.1 of this screen saver was released on 5-10-08. If you have installed the screen saver before 5-10-08, it is strongly suggested that you uninstall it, download it again from the link below and reinstall it. See post #17 in this thread for more information.
----------
As you might know, on Christmas Day 2007 the message board portion of this site turned 10 years old (http://www.camaroz28.com/forums/showthread.php?t=566053).
To thank everyone for being a part of us, to continue excitement for the next Camaro, and last but not least, to celebrate the incredible growth that the 2010 Camaro forums (http://www.camaroz28.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=69) have gone through, we have a small gift for everyone! :D
We made an all-Camaro Concept Screen Saver, and it is 100% FREE. No adware, no spyware, just a kick ass screen saver for anyone who wants to download and install it. It has 101 high quality photos of the Camaro Concepts; 50 of the silver Coupe, 50 of the orange convertible and 1 of the Bumblebee Camaro.
I am sure that most Windows PC's out there can run it, the requirements are not very steep. As far as a Mac version, I am not sure if I can make it work but I will consult a close Mac friend of mine who might be able to help me find out.
It has some configurations that you can change once it is installed, such as time between images, image size & location, sharpening, background color, etc. Play with them and suit them to your liking. :)
>> Click here to download the screen saver (http://www.camaroz28.com/screensaver/camaroconceptsaver.exe) <<
Latest version - 1.1 released 5-10-08
Please read the "readme" portion for more info on it. It is about 9 megs in file size and you can feel free to give it to anyone, host it on your site, whatever! It is FREE!
So, once again, thank you for helping CamaroZ28.Com grow into the the ultimate Camaro site, and I have no doubt we will continue growing well into the future. :cz28:
P.S. Want a free desktop wallpaper to match? Right here (http://www.camaroz28.com/forums/showthread.php?t=517870)!

CCCCCYA 12-31-2007, 02:33 AM Got it. Installed it. Love it. :)
BTW, I was WAAAY glad to hear that the next member summit will be in Indy. Woohoo! I don't have to drive on Detroit roads again! lol.. Can't wait to see you guys and the other folks again. Hopefully I can get my 95 TT project done by then so as to have something fun to drive up with. ;)

maverickmk 12-31-2007, 06:21 PM got it - I like the "Press F9" option - nice touch :) I'll be sending this to all of my friends - especially the non-GM fellas ;)
DAKMOR 01-01-2008, 03:43 AM 1 Bumblebee, gee, make a guy sit there for 10 minutes to see it.
RyanG5 01-02-2008, 02:56 PM Thanks Jason, just putting in my vote for a Mac OS X version!
Windows = Ford Focus (Sure it works and gets you from point A to point B, but with squeaks and rattles and no refinement)
OS X = Corvette ZR1 (Fast, sleek, refined, powerful yet fun and easy to drive)
Think about it. ;)
JasonD 01-02-2008, 05:14 PM Got it. Installed it. Love it. :)
Glad you guys like it!

We will be giving it a try anyway!
got it - I like the "Press F9" option - nice touch :)
Does that work for you? Some have said it does not work for them.
1 Bumblebee, gee, make a guy sit there for 10 minutes to see it.
That's the only one I had that was decent enough to use.
Thanks Jason, just putting in my vote for a Mac OS X version!
I know little about what Mac's can do and what they cannot. Can a Mac run a windows .scr file as a screen saver?
birdetr4 01-12-2008, 08:16 PM beautiful thanks jason;)
Tricked-Out-Toy 01-15-2008, 09:56 AM Awesome! Thanks!
LS1Kid717 01-15-2008, 12:50 PM kick ass, beats the hell out of the black screen that usually shows up on my computer! :thumb:
94 Camaro Z28 01-16-2008, 12:06 PM Downloaded it, awesome! I waited just to see Bumble Bee lol, im a loser.
Tricked-Out-Toy 01-16-2008, 12:10 PM Is there going to be "updates" to it to include more of bumble bee? or even the Pre Pro shots?
JasonD 01-16-2008, 05:31 PM 101 images isn't enough for you? ;) I can update it once we get more pics, or I can make another one to follow it up. We'll see what happens!

I like it. More Bumble Bee would be cool too but its quite alright in its current form.
Im surprized people from the lounge havent jumped in and put the idea out of making a swimsuit screensaver :p
JasonD 05-10-2008, 08:27 PM Notice to all who have downloaded and installed this screen saver!
Version 1.1 of this screen saver was released today (5-10-08) that addresses an interesting issue. Someone said that the "Press F9 to go to CamaroZ28.Com" text at the top of the screen while the program is running actually burned itself into their LCD monitor. It is believed that this situation is very uncommon, but we don't want something cool and free to wreck any monitors so version 1.1 removed the text. You all know how to get to CamaroZ28.Com anyway, you don't need a reminder. :)
Just to be safe, it is strongly suggested that you uninstall the old version, download (http://www.camaroz28.com/screensaver/camaroconceptsaver.exe) and install the latest version. To make sure you have the correct version, go into the screen saver properties and click the "About" tab. It should show that is is v1.1. See the image attached to this post for reference. A revision history is also in the "Read me" portion of the program. Post your questions here if you have them.
Bayer-Z28 05-12-2008, 07:47 PM My fishy screen saver was getting old..

jeglinas 11-09-2008, 12:22 PM I installed version 1.1 and it doesn't work anybody else have this problem with xp? thx
JasonD 11-09-2008, 02:40 PM Does it show up in the list of installed screensavers? If not, completely uninstall it and reinstall it and see what happens.
jeglinas 11-09-2008, 02:41 PM Yes i did that already I don't get it
JasonD 11-09-2008, 02:48 PM I wish I knew what to tell you on what one. If it completes the installation process, it should reside on your system just like any other screen saver program.
ghost94z 12-24-2008, 03:42 AM I just downloaded the camaro concept screen saver and my virus protection found that it has a virus in the setup.exe file. I just thought I would bring this to your attention.
Thanks,
Evan.
JasonD 12-24-2008, 07:55 AM Very likely to be a false alarm. I create it myself and host the file here myself and thousands of people have downloaded and installed the program, including myself as well. Not to mention, there is no file in it called setup.exe. Did you download it from the link above or from somewhere else? Tell me what virus scanner you use and what virus it said it picked up so I can investigate, thanks.

Hey,
Yeah I used the link above camaroconceptsaver.exe hopefully its just a false alarm, I'm using Avira AntiVir Personal, its shows 'TR/Drop.Emin.A [trojan]'
detected in file 'C:\Documents and Settings\E\Local Settings\Temp\TMP70F.tmp\setup.exe. I hope its nothing I really wanted to use the new screensaver,
JasonD 12-24-2008, 12:15 PM I don't see how there could be a virus in it, it never leaves my control. I have tried 3 different "not freeware" antivirus programs and it passes just fine. I would suggest you try a different free anti-virus program like AVG.
ibanez6rg 01-29-2009, 11:45 AM Nice - no problems here.
jesserayjames 02-10-2009, 06:53 PM CooooooooooooooooooooooooL........................ ...Thanks
deerslayinrenek 02-15-2009, 02:32 PM I tried downloading it and it says there's a virus in it and wouldn't let me download it

What says there's a virus in it?
From a few posts up...
