Just installed lid, how do I know if it is sealing properly?

I bought a ls1motorsports lid, and it was a tight fit getting those 4 prongs into the holes. We've got the lid snug, but how am I supposed to check for leaks??

Thanks

Are the tabs securely in the retainers? If they bare stick in, chances are you will be sucking in un-filtered air. A good way of checking for leaks is to use cigarette smoke from under the filter (under the FRA/FTRA area). If you see smoke coming out from where it shouldn't, you got leaks. HTH :)

One good cigar ain't gonna kill ya !! :p

Besides, it's for a good cause !! :D

Now, back to the topic !!

Couldn't you rev the engine with one hand & feel around the edges of the lid for leaks ?

Or, use the smoke idea in the same fashion, but up top.

Some candles I've seen produce a fair amount of smoke - maybe that would do it.

Or, maybe someone else has a more effective method - ?

The cigarette smoke isn't helpful since I don't smoke. I don't have an A/F gauge either.. Damn thanks but maybe someone else has an idea. About the tabs being securly in place, those damn things don't line up to start with. POS
