Milwaukee Mile

Is there going to be a 1/4 mile strip there?!
No...however, we have access to the Milwaukee Mile race track. If you can get a large enough group interested in doing some laps, let me know.

Nahh... I just didn't want to embarrass all the other competitors when I entered the hard-body contest.

I went to a car show at Gibraltar Trade Center last year in Taylor. One side was all the amrican iron, the other was the import. Our side had nice cars, their side had a party going on. Loud music, bikinis, tug of war, just an all out party. I rememebr thinking "this is how it should be"
Then I went back to "our" side and realized I was surrounde by a lot of people 50+. We will never have partying like that at a "normal" car show...

Yep. It's unfortunate, but the "kiddies" don't seem to be into the old-school type performance these days.

your really wasting your time with a topic like this here; most are into racing...

alot of the import scenes success has to do with appearance; half the people on the american side aren't into anything but quarter mile times........sure it's a hell of alot of fun! but there are other aspects. unfortunately it's two different groups of people with different aspirations and rather then coming together to enjoy the overall love of cars each group tries to ruin it for each other.

the import guys see the way the typical "domestic" carshow goes and realize it's boring......so they take advantage of it, they make a car show more than a "window shopping" experience. you may not like alot of the cars but i bet you most appreciate the hard work that goes into "some" of them. biggest thing is they don't descriminate either...doesn't matter the size of their engine or what body style they generally appreciate all makes.

when was the last "domestic" type carshow you went to ever playing anything but "rockin to the oldies"?? you need more than just a couple cars and some old music to keep people from leaving...they purposly go out of their way to make sure there are things to keep people hanging around.

unlike the american side, if it's not new or real old or doesn't have the largest engine it's overlooked. there are way to many lines drawn which keeps alot of things separated.

look at how many car shows are dominated by older muscle cars in general; most are owned by older people and do you see them appreciating the fact that someone in an 02 ss with some mods is there?

look at the meets that use to go on at woodward? everyone picks there side and is to stuborn to change their ways. some may say it isn't true.........well then what happened? we all do it to ourselves wether import or domestic. it's ashame....
