What's this "G2" ??

I'm driving around yesterday and this guy in a white Pont F-body with "G2" splashed all over the side ot it starts acting a fool, and wants to race. I usually don't race other F-bodies as I got this car b/c I enjoy smoked rice. But I digress ..... So we're going about 50 and I dropped it into 3rd and off we go. I pulled away and kept pulling up to about 100 when we both shut it down for a red light. I just smoked his a&&. I was a little suprised how easily I killed him. (he was a little too embarrased to pull up next to me at the light)

I think he may have had an A4, but I don't know much else about this G2. Anyone have a clue what might be under the hood of the unfortunate white G2 I smoked? LT1?

The only thing I can think of is LG Motorsports uses the "G2" logo for it's suspension parts. Could it have been decals from them?
Kinda like having an SLP licence plate frame on your car or a Thunder Racing decal on the windshield...

hahah... beware of a white and blue Trans AM with G2 decals litterally all over it..
i doubt its the one you ran as the one i speak of is driven by a woman with the nickname "ganny" and she looks the part but sure doesnt act it! Her car through out almost 400rwhp and that was with it not working right.. she has a full cage and all in the car..

I personally dont like G2... I think they are overpriced IMO and have read too many negative remarks about them..

and they didnt do anything that impressed me with the LT1 and thats where I started formulating my opinions..

Please give me a break. If you knew anything about LGMotorsports, you would not say that. Hearsay is just that! If you don't have any experience with them directly, you can't say crap about them.

Their products have been extensively r'ed and d'ed, and have been proven to work, time and time again.

I guarantee that if you call them, or email them, you will get a prompt, helpful response. Right now, they have a 25% sale on the majority of their suspension components.

Alot of cars down here have G2 emblems on their cars. Most have nothing more than cold air & exhaust.LGmotorsports in Wylie makes G2 products & sells emblems for your car.

LGMotorsports while expensive does make quality parts. All of their suspension parts are tested on the track from what they say.

Lou Gigliotti does real high-end performance mostly--and there its mostly a lot of corvette work. His C5 ( street car ) puts like 500-600 to the ground ( I dont remember the actual number, i think it was in GMHTP )... There was a G2 suspension package you could buy from them that was one of the best setups for autocross.

I know what you mean about seeing people in north Texas with G2 stickers, I used to live in Arlington. I talked to one guy with G2 stickers on a black LS1 TA and his car was stock... But with the many, there are the few out there with stickers that have had some work done by Lou, and i would bet money on them being some nice rides...

I have been thinking about getting LG to do work on my SS. There is no way I would let some hack shop touch THIS car...

They have a great coil-over kit. If I can manage to save up the $$, I'll probably get it.

They are a good company with excellent customer service. One thing i like about them is their suspension parts are actually used in there auto cross cars. You will see alot of them b/c they are in dallas. Check them out www.lgmotorsports.com . Expensive but nice parts.

G2 is one of the logos used by LG Motorsports, which is in Wylie (just north of Garland). LG is a serious speed shop, and has a number of lethal fast cars. But they also sell the "G2" stickers, which often adorn slower cars. I was trying to pick a fight with a "G2" Camaro the other night, only to realize that it was a 6-popper Camaro

Did you read?
I did say its from my readings and findings here since I joined a couple years ago when I had my LT1.. And as for "Extensive" testing, did you ever see the crap cold air kit they had for the LT1? That was a joke!
I feel I made my views clear and thats all that matters. Like anything on the net, take it with a grain and trust your instincts. Me personally, I will not be using any of their parts on my car.

Good day..

I think i remember the cold air kit you are talking about psycho. Are you talking about the thing that looked like a regular LT1 CAI, but with the big rectangle airbox and filter? it did look like crap, but I never saw one on a car so i really dont know...

Personally, all i have heard is good things about LG, except for their prices. The saying is cliche because its true though: "You get what you pay for."

Thanks for the info. I guess this guy might have had a tricked-up suspension, but he needs to sink some $$ into the motor before he goes picking a fight he can't win. I didn't realize G2 was a N.TX thing, but that would explain why I onle see "G2" around here.

DeathBuzzz we agree on our dream cars except for the division. I've got nothing against the Chevy, It's just that I traded in a '98 Grand Prix GTP on my TA and I already had all this "Pontiac Racing" gear & I would have had to throw it all away .....

Just remember, they are more of a suspension shop, excellent light wight LCA's, or at least thats what i see.

LG does make the best suspension parts, especially for road racing, and I have tried parts from most vendors. I have the LG lightweight aluminum LCA's/PHB on my car right now. They will hold up fine on the street or track, but the double heim joint LCA's transmit a lot of shock over rough surfaces, and I would suggest the LG poly/rod end steel LCA's for street use.

Chuck said it best. Its just a sticker. No Fear, Mossimo, the little kid pisxx on the rice, the typical stickers. G2 just happens to be a sticker that was originated in 1993 with the release of the LG Motorsports suspension products. It is a line of suspension with the name "G2 Performance By Gigliotti"

It was going to be 1G- meaning how many G forces, but that was copywrited, along with 2G, and then G1 was as well. G2 was simply the next best thing. It turns out, by coincidence that my father, Lou, is Lou Gigliotti II, 3 time World Challenge Champion, Trans Am Series winner, and Grand Am Winner as well. And Im the III. Thats all, that simple, Plus, he brings 30+years of racing experience to the F-car world that has been and is still being applied to new parts- For you the consumer:cool:

When the shopcar was in the Chevy Highperformance Article, we had those stickers on there. Every customer that rode in the car, and saw it wanted the stickers. So, thats the story behind the G2.

They run around Dallas like white on rice. Some are V6s, others are 7 liter solid roller LS1s putting down in excess of 515 to the wheels. There are even some trucks and beaters that have them on. No rice though;)

Ill be back in Dallas Black TA02 if youd like to play. I too have G2 stickers backed up by 425 RWHP, and keep an eye out a G7 sticker(7 liter:D)

thanks for listening

Louis Gigliotti

Gentlemen, here's my take on this subject...

I have done quite a bit of business with LGmotorsports in the past and all I can say is that their business is top-notch. If you call their shop you will find that you receive nothing but friendly service and helpful advice. Lou is the man when it comes to F/Y-bodies hands down. Yes they do do a lot with suspensions, however that is not the only thing they sell. Thay also sell some of the best heads/cam packages available, brakes that could stop a freight train on a dime, exhaust systems, the list goes on and on. I know this is starting to sound like a damned infomercial, but I have had nothing but the best experience with these guys and that is why I took the time to post this message.

As for the pricing...

Where else can you go and buy your parts at 25% off with a layaway plan to boot? I mean that is almost unheard of. And if anyone can show me a company that sells same or better quality / performing parts, at a cheaper price then LG I'll eat my hat. Not to mention that these parts are all race proven. The R&D that goes into everything they sell is phenominal.

So you beat a guy that had a G2 sticker on his car...big deal! I have eaten plenty of cars with great big SLP emblems and such. It's not the stickers that make the cars go fast. If anyone here has any doubts that what I have said in this post is not right on the money, I would suggest you call the shop for yourself. It'd be the best favor you've done yourself in a long time, I guarantee it. Besides your car'll love you for it too.
