does anybody have any clue as too how long chevy will keep selling the ls-1 engine? i called them a week ago and its some where around 6 grand for a brand new one. if they stop selling them should the prices start to drop?

no.. if gm stopped selling them, then they would cost more because they are harder to get..
and only gm knows when they will stop selling crate ls1's

The truck engines are similar enough that LS1 production will go on for a while. Remember they use the LS1 in the Corvette also....

well wouldnt they only cost more if demand is up? do a lot of people actually drop brand new ls-1 from gm right into their cars?

I wouldnt worry about being able to get one. You can still get the tpi engines from 3rd gens, not that you would want to.

not only are the ls1's in the vette that isnt going any where for atleast 3 more years, they will be putting it in one of the new caddies, and once and if they stop making it price will go up.

You definately don't have to worry, it's in the vette, going to be in the new GTO, and someone else said it's in one of the caddy's and i'm sure they'll come out with some other performance cars with the ls1, so I wouldn't worry about it if I were you!!!
