I have put MSDs on a couple of muscle cars now and seen great results. I came across one the other day and was wondering if it would help my ls1 camaro at all or if I'm just wasting my time.
Thanks

MSD box on an LS1?longgunn 12-08-2002, 02:15 PM I have put MSDs on a couple of muscle cars now and seen great results. I came across one the other day and was wondering if it would help my ls1 camaro at all or if I'm just wasting my time. Thanks Corey R. 12-08-2002, 07:05 PM Older cars really benefit from the MSD system. newer cars already have very powerful ignition systems. doubt it makes the same great of a difference on a newer car. i have an MSD on my 69 camaro it it helped alot. im not bothering with any of that stuff on my new one. i dont think the ignition system is a weak point on Ls1's bigtwink 12-08-2002, 07:56 PM They don't have one for the LS1 yet! There are suppose to be working on one now. Not sure when its going to be released. PhantomTA 12-08-2002, 07:58 PM exactly.. no msd available.. holley has a system for just under 3 grand :) longgunn 12-08-2002, 08:16 PM What about using like a 6AL box on the ls1? I have one sittin around would it be worth my time to install it? PhantomTA 12-08-2002, 08:31 PM No.. you cant.. msd does NOT have a box that will work.. Notice you have 8 coil packs each ran by the computer and no distributor.. Even the multipul coil pack "Stacker MSD box" does not work. Like i said. they dont have one but Holley has a setup for just under 3 grand. longgunn 12-08-2002, 08:38 PM Thanks very much for the help! You saved me a lot of time.:D PhantomTA 12-08-2002, 09:17 PM yeah some people dont know they dont work.. which is fine if you just dont know. I had a guy call me at ramchargers trying to find out why he couldnt get his 6a to work on his 99 SS! :) | ||
